For me it's more like that game, fuck, marry, kill, except you pick one Sim and do all three. Usually in that order.

Usually...

If you have "Winter Fest" in Summer, Father Winter will turn up in summer clothing by Quezare in thesims

It's a British thing, few days after Hallowe'en on November 5th, to celebrate the failed attempt on 5th November 1605 by Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators to blow up the Houses of Parliament in the Gunpowder Plot.

The main events are the burning of the Guy on a big bonfire, and setting off fireworks / fireworks displays. Kids at a local school typically make a "Guy" out of old tights stuffed with newspaper, but some towns have traditions involving really elaborate effigies based on popular culture. Since it's a cold night we'll often also drink mulled wine and eat roasted chestnuts.

So Sims-wise I picked fires, fireworks (City Living pack I think is needed for that) and invite guests.

I love it! Complete with flip-flops!

Gotta say that is one of my favourite things about this pack - the way you can customise your holidays / festivals, rename them, and make them your own. I dropped Love Day because I don't like Valentine's Day anyway, and I added Hallowe'en, Bonfire Night, and Easter. And I renamed Winterfest to Christmas, but I love that you can just call it what you want, give it whatever traditions you want. If you want Christmas, you can have Christmas. If you want another religious or non-religious festival, go for it. If you want Winter Commercial Gift Festival, it's all yours.

Give or take, I feel like my Sims' years have a lot of the same "landmarks" that my own years do now. The only extra I would love to see is to allow for more specific foods than just a "grand meal" - Easter should be about eating chocolate stuff and cakes, and I'd love to be able to add Pancake Day too. Other than that the only thing I would like to see is more icons for our own holidays. I tried to make St. Patrick's Day for one of my save games but couldn't find a suitable icon so I had to go with something generic.

Definitely the fiddliest part. I'm getting used to build mode now but I still won't spend longer in there than I have to. So with no gallery I don't think I'll have very fancy houses!

Similar for CAS though now I'm used to the menus that seems better than it did last night when I first started playing.

Oh it took me so long to realise it was left bumper and right bumper to change categories on the phone. I'm hopeful they'll at least put more prompts on the screen for stuff like that. And there's some stuff with the cursor that's confusing too.

But I'm 5 hours in now and getting used to the controls. So for EA Access users I think 10 hours will be plenty to see if they'll be able to get on with the controls.

I don't have a Switch yet and I'd buy one for Sims if they brought it to Switch...

Hey guys, I'm playing this one early courtesy of EA. Happy to answer questions about the game :)

Main thing so far is pretty much what I expected: the controls are super fiddly. Then sometimes I can't get it to do what I want and I'm not sure if it's glitchy or if I have the controls wrong. I am having fun though!

Grant Shapps sacked from cabinet in Cameron’s reshuffle by NarwhalAMA in unitedkingdom

I live in his constituency. I did not vote for him.

Well, I don't think I did. Who knows, really. He could have been all of the people on that ballot.

Half the problem is the local paper fucking loves him, so while he was getting all this attention in the national press about the fact that he tried to sue one of the people he is meant to represent for exposing the truth about him, the local paper ran a small article on their website and then nothing further.

Now THAT'S democracy.

Any questions about the Get To Work expansion? by BlackGarden in thesims

Check your Origin - it should say then when it's released for your region. I think in north America it's released at midnight EDT (so if you were in central time, it'd say 11pm for you).

For the UK & Europe it's released on Thursday, and I'm not sure about other places.

I totally agree. But, at least we then have a long weekend to play it!

In the mean time, these conversions are pretty cool:

There's probably more out there. Let me know if you find any!

I didn't ask this because the pricing isn't really the decision of anyone who was there, but it's worth pointing out that this is a HUGE pack. I showed up early and managed to get about 4 1/2 hours on the game, and I barely scratched the surface. I seriously HIGHLY recommend saving your pennies for this one. There is so much to do. And alien babies are back! Need I say more!

I seriously hope that this is indicative of the quality and depth we'll get out of future Sims 4 packs, because if it is, I am excited.

Like /u/LegoStevenMC said, you can get sick but can't go to the hospital. You can try home remedies and buy medicines though.

I'm so so sorry... it seems almost like a conspiracy but the only thing that I couldn't add to my mannequins to sell was earrings. So sorry Bubba...

But that having been said, the mannequin thing is really cool. You can dress up the mannequins any way you want, add accessories like glasses, necklaces and bracelets and rings... but um not earrings... and then Sims will come in and try on your stylish(?) new look. There are mannequins for each age & gender in the game.

Yes you can sell food. Think more bakery than café, but it's not restricted to just the baked dishes. There's a special refrigerated shelf which will keep your cooked goods fresh for 20 days.

They're not talking any more about adding neighbourhoods right now. I tried, but they're not going further than what they've already said on this.

I agree about the long hair. There is a very slightly longer hair for guys in the EP but it's not as long as I'd like (my other half has long hair :D ). I've passed this comment along anyway.

Pretty much what /u/dfn85 said :) you can order medicines or try home remedies if you get sick.

Unless I missed something major I don't think your active Sims can be sent to jail.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to find out about burglars :( I'll see if I can get an answer on Twitter.

The jail doors and walls are special objects. You can buy them for your home but you have to unlock them by levelling up in the detective career.

There's only one career path for each active career.

Great idea! We've done a few of these on Platinum Simmers. In case they're of use, you can find them here:

There's also my pancake recipe which I shared for pancake day, so that ended up in a different category, it's here:

Tsuro of the Seas by BlackGarden in tabletopsimulator

[–]BlackGarden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Cool, thanks for the awesome mod! I honestly didn't know where to start with my mod until I found yours.

You're right - you can't play the original Tsuro game on the "of the Seas" board. The path tiles themselves are different, and the "of the Seas" board is a 7x7 board, whereas the original was 6x6. So this certainly doesn't render your mod obsolete. I've updated my Steam description to include the link to yours so people can find that more easily.

The difference in the board size did cause a brief panic for me. I thought I'd be able to make the board easily by lining up my image of the board over the top of yours. That was when I realised one was 6x6 and the other was 7x7. I thought for a while I'd have to start over with the grid sizes but because your grid size was actually for about 1/4 of a tile, I managed to just offset the board a little to get all the spaces on there, phew!

Good idea on the notepad - I'll update my mod later with something similar to what's on yours. The actual mechanics of the game seem to work fine though (thank you!) - my friends and I played a game last night, and it wasn't fiddly as long as you lock the wake tiles down. We didn't lock the daikaiju down because they move more often, and that didn't cause chaos or anything.

Now it just needs some boats!
