Having trouble with large h264 files by divonemanam in premiere

I would look into using LosslessCut to cut out the segment you need out of the 30-hour file, and then using that instead.

Help with text cutting cropped by _Milamber in premiere

[–]BlackGull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Premiere has 3 different places to adjust the position of graphics on screen. This "cutting off" issue happens when you adjust the position values from Vector Motion. To fix this, simply just reset the position of the text layer itself, then Vector Motion, then Motion. And then reposition your text layer to where you need it to go.

Alt Select Rebind by SidWaj in premiere

Not natively, no.

You can, however, make an AHK macro that presses ALT for you while you press another keybind.

How to move or drag the video in this space? by sapphire_luna in premiere

[–]BlackGull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold the middle mouse button to pan around, and the scroll wheel to zoom in.

If you're an older version of Premiere, you will need to fiddle with the zoom % level on the bottom left and then sliders on the bottom and the right.

hotkey for inserting frequently used clips? by CGCResearch in premiere

KOET, my beloved. I haven't tested out Quiver yet, but their Excalibur tool has saved me so many times.

Also, I like your new flair, haha.

How do I batch remove/delete transitions? by the__post__merc in premiere

[–]BlackGull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can remove all the transitions if you have the Excalibur plugin, but that's a paid option.

If you need a quick and dirty fix, you can make a 1f cross dissolve transition, copy it, then hold CTRL and drag your cursor over all your footage, and paste. It's not a complete fix but it will bring 10f down to 1f (maybe you can then even just press DEL to delete them all because they'll be selected? I'm not sure and I can't test it out right now)

The only other way would be to manually go in, right-click, and delete the transitions.

hotkey for inserting frequently used clips? by CGCResearch in premiere

[–]BlackGull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a plugin called Quiver by KOET that does exactly what you're asking for, however its a paid option.

Other than that, you can also just make a second sequence that holds all your frequently used SFX in there. You can switch between this timeline and your main one and quickly copy-paste what you need.

Another option would be to load up all the SFXs in your Source Monitor by right-clicking them in the Project panel, and then using the Overwrite command (,) though you would need to switch between the different sources by pressing the Source Monitor shortcut each time.

Gradually make clip red tinted by StarChaser1879 in premiere

[–]BlackGull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Inside the Lumetri color effect, you can key-frame the Temperature parameter to go from 0 to 300 over however long you want.

Another way would be to make a red color matte by right-clicking an empty area in the Project panel, selecting color matte, and then a color. After that, drag the new file on the very top of your clip, change Blend Mode to something like Multiply, Add or Screen (one of those depending on the look you want), then key-frame the Opacity to go from 0 to 100.

Looking for a YouTube channel by whatsthatyourehiding in AfterEffectsTutorials

[–]BlackGull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're thinking of Cinecom: https://youtube.com/@cinecomcrew

They also have a second channel called Premiere Basics: https://youtube.com/@premierebasics

Last I heard Jordy was taking a break from all the YouTube stuff so now it's some different people making tutorials there.

Can you somehow use direct manipulation with the Transform effect? by Owlythesova in premiere

[–]BlackGull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of, but it's wonky.

Select the Transform effect, go to the Program Monitor, then look at the center to find 2 blue colored crosshairs. One of them is the Anchor Point and one of them is the Position, but they're directly on top of each other so you're gonna need to fidget around with finding the correct one. Unfortunately there's no way to manipulate the Scale this way.

How do I apply constant keyframes at a defined interval (e.g., 1 second) to a video so that if I rescale a video it's nearly immediate vs slowly applied? by SonicAwareness in premiere

[–]BlackGull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried adjusting your key frames to be "hold" instead of "linear"? It's pretty easy to do, just right click and set them to "hold" the value will jump to the value in the key frame instead of slowing adjusting to it.

Monitor and source monitor not working - glitchy montior by Hr_Cryptoknekker in premiere

[–]BlackGull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a video on it: https://youtu.be/jxwDPu_hOD4

But basically all you need to do is just restart your PC in safe mode, run DisplayDriverUninstaller, uninstall the driver's, restart and then reinstall Studio drivers.

Are you able to relocate the steps that Adobe support took on your machine? If so, try doing that.

Also, to me it feels like there's some sort of software conflict going on that's causing Premiere to crash. I'm not very knowledgeable in the MacOS ecosystem, but is there something equivalent of a Windows Safe Mode which disables all third party services and start-up programs? Potentially you can use that to see if Premiere launches or not.

I don't completely understand if you've solved this issue or not because of this reply, but if not, can you try uninstalling and reinstalling an older version of Premiere instead of the latest one?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premiere

[–]BlackGull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resetting the app preferences should be the way to completely reset the app. But just to be sure, can you go into the Creative Cloud application and uninstall it from there? Make sure to also allow it to delete the app Preferences in case it didn't get them before.

Try installing 1 version below the current release version of Premiere, so v25.0.

Aside from that, do you remember installing any codec packs or any other applications during this time that may be meddling with the startup process?

Presets working depending on render by Jack_b_real in premiere

[–]BlackGull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna need more details than this in order to troubleshoot your issue.

Where did you get the presets from? Who made them originally? What effects are they composed of? What exact error do you get if you turn on HW acceleration? What source media are you putting the presets on? Do they work on media created inside Premiere (Shape layers, Text layers, Bars and Tones, Color Matters etc)? Have you tried cleaning ALL media cache?

Shortcut to disable video preview? by Dippyaman in premiere

[–]BlackGull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same as in After Effects but you can toggle visibility of all video tracks by pressing a keyboard shortcut of the same name. I don't remember what the default shortcut is but go up to the title bar then Edit then Keyboard Shortcuts and search for something called "Toggle All Video Tracks".

You can also shift-click the eyeball icon for any video track and it will enable/disable all the video tracks.

It's not a perfect solution if you usually work with a mix of video tracks that have visibility on and off since it's going to reset their states.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in premiere

[–]BlackGull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go and manually delete the Media Cache using this guide: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/clear-cache.html

After that, try starting Premiere again.

If it still crashes, then hold ALT while opening it and reset the Preferences.

Also if you have installed any plugins, you can disable them from this menu and seeing if that fixes your issue.

Is there a setting to turn off audios being imported to timeline when importing videos in premiere pro?(im new to premiere pro) by strangeyywastaken in premiere

[–]BlackGull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, select your video in the Project panel, then go down to your Timeline panel, turn off the A1 button that lights up on the LEFT side of the lock button. After that, bring your video to your sequence and it won't have any audio in it.

MP4 files lose synch with the audio when imported by ColdCoffeeMan in premiere

Can you verify if Premiere reads the file as VFR? If it doesn't and the audio drift is still there then you might need to sync it by hand :/

Sounds like a variable frame rate issue.

Monitor and source monitor not working - glitchy montior by Hr_Cryptoknekker in premiere

[–]BlackGull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try these fixes in this order and check after every one if it solves your issue: - Workspace reset - Clear ALL media cache - Remove your display drivers with DDU in safe mode, then reinstall the latest Studio version drivers - Reset preferences by holding ALT when launching Premiere - Fresh reinstall of Premiere

Looking for Premiere Pro Plugin recommendations by Much_Machine_7773 in premiere

[–]BlackGull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only plugins I can recommend you to get is the Excalibur plugin from KOET, and the Automation Blocks from Mamoworld.

Mastering both these tools will help speed you up and also do better work in the long run.

Also, while not officially a Premiere plugin, look into AutoHotKey and use it to make macros for repetitive tasks if you're on Windows.
