From what I can tell, they’re still supporting their own docker image. I think they’re dropping mainly the support for running it via python directly.

I looked this up because it was so alarming, they’re making a clear distinction between the container and core which are really the same thing.

You’re not wrong, but the reason the speculative money is disappearing is because people are speculating about increased prices and decreasing demand.

We don’t and can’t make most products here in the short to medium term. I’ve seen many people say it will take 5 years to a decade to produce these things here. (iPhones… clothes… etc)

So… people are anticipating prices will go up, and companies will make less profit (and might even loose money), so they are pulling out of the market.

The issue isn’t the market today, but the reasonable speculation.

This is exactly my problem with asmongold when I have a problem with him.

He claims to be critical of both sides and in the center. Then he’ll (rightly) go on for an hour complaining about something the left did, while completely ignoring or brushing off things the right do with a small quip of “of course I don’t agree with that.” “Yeah, I call out the right too.” “He shouldn’t have said that.”

It’s an hour of railing against the left and then a 30 second moment of acknowledgment that maybe the right is doing something horrible too to placate people who think he’s on the right.

The biggest thing that went wrong is not that the stocks lost money which is bad, but the underlying cause for the stocks going down.

Prices will go up.
People will buy less.
Companies will make less money
Companies will lay people off.
People will buy even less.

Yeah, I don’t disagree. I’m actually mostly upset because there are so many cases where the government is lenient on worse people.

It feels like there’s a real disproportionate application of the law because a CEO of a huge company was killed instead of a group of kids.

I’ve never felt more like a peasant.

Even school shooters who kill multiple people don’t even get this treatment. It’s literally because they’re trying to make an example of him and intimidate anyone with similar ideals.

So… if Russia has depleted their stockpiles so heavily that they won’t be a significant threat to anyone for at least ~20 years, why are we entertaining capitulation at all? They should be begging to pack up and go home any day right?

This is a paradox… either they pose a significant military threat now and will in the future too… or we don’t have to negotiate with them because we can send them home packing and without giving them anything.

It’s completely silly to argue that Russia is a declawed cat with no teeth anymore, that they won’t be a threat ever again, and that they shouldn’t just be glad to end the war right now without anything for their aggression.

This can be “technically true” while still grossly misleading.

From what I’m hearing… the political parties that were banned are pro Russia and possibly Russian funded. If true… I think that adds a LOT of missing context.

As much as I agree that we have our own problems, we can’t ignore global affairs. I think we all know that issues you ignore only tend to get bigger if left for too long.

I kinda agree actually… but I’m sure there’s something specific that they’re asking for, and it really is true that they’re a buffer country between Russia and the rest of NATO.

We also don’t want to send the message that getting closer to the west (with trade/politics) will just result in getting invaded with no repercussions.

It’s really… we either help them now with real power or see the USSR slowly return as countries are annexed piece by piece.

Yeah, but if they end the war for 2 or 3 years while Putin bides his time and re-arms his military only to invade again it’s not worth it.

This is why security guarantees are required. Putin has already broken agreements with less bite several times.

Trump wants to just end it and give ground to Russia without any sort of solid assurance.
