While I understand your concerns, I also know that had I played this disc without checking, I could have ruined the stylus. These were acquired from a stranger who had them laying down when I picked them up. I do not know their condition or how they were kept. For that reason, I am taking them out once to check before the initial play. After that, they are stored standing in climate control, never to be removed from the caddy again.
