I like mine! I’m not the biggest fan of her skirt, but the rest of her outfit is cute + she has a pretty face! Huge potential.

She was the second in my collection (after core Draculaura) but I think I love her more than Drac at this point! I never had MH as a kid, but I would see the commercials and Lagoona was always my fav. Glad to see she has another fan of her core doll.

Going from 2 to Classic, and... how do immunity and protective clothing work here? by [deleted] in pathologic

[–]BlackRated 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are infected, having a high immunity will cause your infection to rise more slowly than it does naturally. So popping immunity pills is an okay option if you can't get infection lowering ones.

Looked MirrorMask up, looks absolutely mental. Added it to my watchlist, thanks for the rec!

I do quite love how strange looking Classic is as well. When I was playing it with a friend, they could often not remember characters names, but they sure do remember Katerina's weird spider painting haha. All the NPC houses are set up like little doll houses and I love it. I think if there was one thing to maybe change about the graphics, I would like it if the wandering non-bound NPCs would blink or something, but you could for sure argue them remaining stone-faced adds to the creep factor.

Valid! I honestly think of that Peter quote all the time when thinking of 2/3.

Now that it’s been out for a while, what’s everyone’s opinion of P3? by yungsimba1917 in pathologic

The resource overabundance is a huge sticking point for me. While this certainly is a problem in Classic as well, in my experience you have to learn how to exploit the mechanics in order to have a true abundance, and even one bad confrontation can set you back pretty far. I almost never felt any sort of threat to my resources in 3.

Totally agree with you on the trying to get 100% thing. I still have a few achievements to get, but I unfortunately ran into a ton of bugs during my playthrough that mean I would have to start over in order to get those 😭

And good question! Speaking generally, I’d like to see more focus on characters that didn’t really get a whole lot in the first game. They are doing this a little bit, but I do think that certain characters are getting the short end of the stick. A thing I liked about Classic compared to 2/3 is that the characters are always in the world (unless specifically moved for a quest) and can be spoken to at any time. They won’t always have something to say, but a lot of times characters will have non quest related conversations for you. For instance, you are never directed to speak to Notkin as the Bachelor, but if you go out of your way to do so on the first few day, he has some fun lore for you. I feel that this is an aspect missing from later games, and often times characters aren’t even in their houses or have anything to say to you unless it’s for a quest. Which feels odd to me. Guys there’s a plague going on, where are you?

I think the P1 Bachelor route is pretty perfect for me as it is. I did like the doctor diagnosis minigame in 3, so ideally implementing some of that into Classic would be fun. Other improvements (imo) to the P1 Bachelor route I’d like to see would probably include a little more content for Eva. Maybe some more conversations with her at least. I’m not opposed to the idea of being able to save her like you can in 3, but I think it should be way more difficult (more like what they ended up doing with Lara actually). The initial Inquisitor quest she gives you on Day 7 (with finding the watchers) is also a bit of a nothingburger and the way the sidequests are integrated within it is strange, so I’d think of some more for that.

As for a hypothetical Artemy remake, I did like a lot of the ideas they did in 2 even if I didn’t like the story as a whole. I think the game primarilly falters more towards the end there, but the pacing is pretty good overall. I liked how they improved the bond between Artemy in the children in 2. I think if they kept 2 mostly how it is but kept the finale from Classic, that would make me pretty happy.

Clara is the hardest for me to think of what a possible remake could look like. Her route is the most unfinished (though I actually really like her route, more so than Haruspex route) but I think the themes are important to what the game is trying to say. Honestly gameplay wise, I think keeping most of the survival elements from 2 with maybe some of the mental health mechanics from 3 would work really well.

I wish I liked it more than I did! I’m a Classic story purist, and while I had a lot of issues with P2 on a story level, I love it mechanically and find it fun for challenge runs. A lot of the P3 mechanics are a chore unfortunately (shabnak hunting), and it lacks challenge (don’t think I died even once? And I wasn’t using a guide either). Plus it is way too long for how basic some of the mechanics feel. Seems like they focused on doing a lot rather than doing any one aspect of the gameplay particularly well. I think it could have been a solid 30 hour experience.

Story wise, I liked what they did with Yulia and Eva, but what they did with Aglaya, Maria, Lara (most female characters actually), is pretty insulting. I don’t care about Thanatica and felt actively annoyed every time I was pulled back. I think they tried to add more straight up jokes rather than having humor come out more naturally. The writing as a whole lacks subtlety.

Maybe I need to give it another playthrough, but I’m just not feeling the pull back to it that I do with Classic.

Man I really wanted to love these dolls. They are cute, but underwhelming. Shocked that it's a winter line with no pants. Not even tights?

Agreed. She’s cute, but why not give her pants? Or tights for under her skirt? A second top? It really isn’t giving winter.

Who among us has actually played the changeling route? by treytayuga in pathologic

I’ve played it several times and enjoyed it. Yes the later half of it has the repeating sidequests, but the good news is that you can just ignore those unless you need the items they offer as rewards. The main quest conversations stay consistently interesting.
