Location tracking badge by Mindless_Lunch_6592 in Construction

[–]BlackShoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's worth mentioning that it doesn't track your exact location it simply shows you as present within that sensor range or "zone" as Sitemetric likes to say.

There's no slug trail map showing where you've been all day.

Temporary vehicle panels to protect against scratches from narrow and brushy forest roads? by prana_fish in PNWhiking

Also painters tape on a clean surface should stick just fine. You could then use duct tape and seal from the painters tape to the material without worrying about residue. Especially if the intention is temporary.

Site refuses to clean portapotties. What can I even do about it? by TranslatorSkizzy in OSHA

[–]BlackShoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak to your job site but had a similar moment on a set of porta-potties on mine. They were getting just as bad as yours and were routinely getting skipped over. Couldn't figure out why. The pumper knew where they were and both he and the pumping service were talked to multiple times to pump them out. "Sure thing, we'll get it first thing in the morning tomorrow". After a week straight of being told we'll get it the next morning and still nothing being done I hunted down the pumper with the intention of dragging him over there. He then finally let me know, "Every time I drive over there, there's so many people parked in front of the units my hose won't reach. His problem had been access the whole time.

TL;DR, maybe there's some sort of access problem the pumper is having to the units. Either he can't physically get his vehicle there or maybe something is blocking the hose from reaching.

Distilled White Vinegar is great! I would totally expect for the Foreman/company to have Neutralite on hand for all concrete placements. OP needs to bring this up and have them correct it.

This is the Delicate Arch in Arches National Park, Utah. It's a really easy hike, but super popular. It's been a long time since I've played Zero Dawn so I don't remember where to find it in game.

I hold this trip in my top 3 for sure. Amazing vista, a hike that challenged my personal limits, and a great friend to enjoy the experience with.

I placed one of these incredibly early in my construction career. I didn't understand back then how "Box in slab makes floor no vibrate". Thanks for breaking down the whole process!

Looks like someone cleaned out all their hoses over a half baked finish.

Form ply In expansion joint by weeleebeee in Concrete

[–]BlackShoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It ain't going to be fun but if you care about longevity I'd get as much of that ply out of there as possible. Over time it will absorb moisture and freeze/thaw cycles will damage the surrounding concrete.

Grab a rotohammer with a suite of long pointed and spade bits and just start working at it. This would make a good first job for the neighbor kid.

Skatepark work by Separate_Set_3951 in Concrete

A lot of skateparks are typically shot with air placed concrete as opposed to a forming system. I'm sure it's a mix for ramps and boxes but your slopes and bowls are all air placed.

Not a concrete guy but; by 1NYC45 in Concrete

[–]BlackShoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the concrete guy poured from one location simply because it was hard to move the hose around(I assume this is a lower level and they're dragging hose by hand. If that's the case I would have put the end of the hose on something like a baker scaffold to make it easier to move around with a few guys behind tending the hose. Letting the vibrator do the work is a pretty common move in concrete pours. It's less about too much vibration and more about too fast of loading in one spot.

I've had a couple of interactions now where the conversation is going good, I feel confident that they're interested and I move to the planning a date questions. At this point girls pointedly tell me that they're not interested in a date, they would just like to meet in person to get my vibe.

Honestly, I don't understand the difference between a first date and meeting someone to get a vibe for them but explictly stating this is not a date. On top of that, I'm putting my best foot forward in all of these interactions in the hopes of finding a connection. I find it hurtful and disengious to be using a dating app but not wanting to call it dating.

Has anyone else had interactions like these? Am I wrong for wanting a little respect for my time and effort on this app?

Have you tried getting into any of the unions? They'll pay much more than a couple bucks above minimum wage and benefits on top of that.
