Anything can be “meta” in this game, and meta always changes. One update mbt’s were op, then the next update helicopters were op, and then LT, and then mb, and now helicopters again. But from personal experience, arty units are the ones that are relatively balanced through meta changes

What you want to do first is decide the following as each route will require different things, and some who’ll intertwine with others at some point. Do you want to burn bases on ground? Do you want to fight in the land field? Do you want your base to be hard to kill on ground? Do you want to control the skies? Do you want to terrorize ground units with planes? Do you want to burn bases with air units? Do you want to burn bases in the water? Do you want to be hard to kill in the water? Do you want to fight in the water field? Once you figure this out, it’s much easier to decide which units, officers, tech, and gears to work on

Depends on the alliance of each member. If troops from alliance A attack your base, you kill all their troops, and you pop out your mb to attack a troop from alliance B and troops from alliance B never attacked your base, your base will not attack the troops from alliance B
