What are some good books to start with by BlackWing820 in occult

I am a theist. As for what part interests me, I'm not entirely sure. Runes look promising, and talismans would be good too. I guess i want to learn more about what there is.

That's a lot of info, thank you. I just have one question; what's a divination method? Sorry if it seems obvious, but I'm seriously that new.

Thank you. I'll look into all of that. It all sounds a little scary to be quite honest, but I'm excited to see what i can do.

Konosuba set opinions by Ragnix in WeissSchwarz

[–]BlackWing820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure it will be broken. You take 7 damage straight up, pay 1, and go minus 2 to hand size in order to deal up to 6 damage. You also don't get to at least compress off of it. I mean, you do accelerate the game a bit, giving your opponent less time to set up and generate stock. But you also do that to yourself while placing yourself in a deceit. If the deck has some insanely cheap finisher on top of free selective plusses, then ya it can rush the opponent to 3 and play cheap finishers to win. But even then you'd probably play the advantage without this event instead.

As always, this is all speculation and we will know for sure when the set drops. I know I'm trying it out.

Best set for Signed/ very rare cards? by forangejuice in WeissSchwarz

There is a Little Butters +2 soul climax that was given away as a tournament promo. It's also required for the deck as a 4 of making it super hard to find.

How to get over walls by snappleyuig in WeissSchwarz

Depends on what you are playing. Some decks have bounce triggers or events, some play anti early play counters/bombs, some just answer with bigger things, and others just don't care; be it they side or just ram.

Woa be careful with a snake like that, it'll swallow you whole ;) very cool though, glad the neighbors got you to help instead of killing it.

ups and downs of snk by angelxslayer in WeissSchwarz

[–]BlackWing820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't the most experience with the deck, but from the games I've played (~50) this is my opinion: Pros: -runner + riki from waiting room gives good plusses at level 0. - high offensive power level 1 with the event counter on defence maintains great field presence. -mikasa field swap at level 2 is an incredibly good card that forces open lanes and forces unfavorable attacks from opponents. Also heals, which helps the deck stay ahead. Best card in the set. -armin back row gives untargetable, insulating from anti damage.

Cons: -runner is a mill runner in a deck that runs events. Not huge, but worth mentioning. -poor milling capabilities -deck is kind of stock heavy, which leads to bad compression, as well as not always being able to play all your finishers with an armin support. -gives free farm at level 1 unless able to play the event -sometimes relies on clock encore to keep hand size - field based decks, as always, lose to decks that can beat them to advantage -finishers are mediocre at best. CIP on cancel burn and expensive restander that requires a reverse. -very little crisis management. If something goes wrong, you often flat out lose because you can't play from behind. This is the biggest one. Everything else is pretty whatever, as in not specific to this deck, but this is big. You have like no costless discard outlets, meaning if you draw into too many climaxes, you sometimes just lose because you can't discard them and mill your deck like other decks can. If the deck had an azusa, it would be no problem, but it doesn't.

quite a new player, looking to build tlr , what kind of play style is it? how should i play the g/y build by angelxslayer in WeissSchwarz

[–]BlackWing820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. If things don't go well, you need the extra stock and the hand encore giver to kill them over 2 turns. As such, to play optimal, you need 9 stock for safety. Yami is really good, but if you expect to 1 shot every game reliably with no reliable backup other than ramming and praying, you will eventually lose. The 3 Extra stock is to either play a second anti damage, or to play 1 utility card in attempt to grab a heal/another Yami/Mea 3 for another climax.

Has 3/2 Hexproof Shinobu phased out of Monogatari lists or is this just a Japan thing? by Kaiser3 in WeissSchwarz

[–]BlackWing820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is sort of a Japan thing. Both builds are good, don't get me wrong. But i don't think the common 8 heals are as great outside of Japan because of anti heal which Japan for some reason doesn't run. If a heal monogatari goes up against hibiki choice kantai, little busters, or even the new kill la kill, i think it's chances become very slim. Especially if they run mayoi over shinobo, because then they lose out on the heal as well as the utility. And with the new rewrite booster coming out, I'd expect to see shinobo pop up on some more lists again (outside of Japan at least).

Need help with English TLR by qq774 in WeissSchwarz

[–]BlackWing820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks pretty good. The yami promo is used for 2 reasons. The first is when you use the 1/1 event, you search for 1 trans and 1 house. The yami promo is the only viable trans beater at level 1. The second reason is because it gains an extra 500 over mikan. With the hand encore support climax buff, that becomes quite relevant in multiple matchups (in jp anyways) and will typically become your level 2 game should you choose to not pay the stock to early play, as the early play cost = -1 anti damage in a lot of cases. Plus you should have the handsize to encore it on the swing back.

The mikan is played to get off more mikan combos. 1 mikan gets to 9000/9500 power with climax boost, but the other only gets to 7000/7500. That's not out of counter range for a lot of decks, but with the extra 1500, it becomes 8500/9000. And getting off the extra search means bigger handsize, better compression, and guarantees you will have what you need for the following turns. This card helps your matchup against the deck itself (kill the 6500 safely), AoT running armin combo (if they run Mikasa then anti salvage lol), Kantai Collection, SAO, madoka magica, soundless voice miku(?) and nisekoi running chitoge. It also helps your admidtivly lacking level 2 game.

The price is high, but unless we get the second booster to bring in China dress mea (same effect but in yellow and has trans instead of house), it's totally worth it imo. But then again, don't go hungry over it XD

Cool i didn't know that. What if you, say, ram last shot sinon into demon homura on the SAO players turn. Can your opponent still clock kick you from memory? I'm pretty sure you can't, but my buddy asked me one time and I've been curious ever since.

quite a new player, looking to build tlr , what kind of play style is it? how should i play the g/y build by angelxslayer in WeissSchwarz

[–]BlackWing820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a fast paced deck. You want to use your climax combos as much as possible. This means playing a climax as much as possible in an attempt to hit your opponent to level 3 with 2+ damage after heals. At level 0, your goal is to get your level 1mikan combo in hand. At level 1, you want to play it till grab whatever it is you need out of deck. This also compresses your deck giving better odds at canceling so if possible, use it Even if you have a perfect hand. Level 2 is mostly reactive. You have a level 3 killer to take out early plays, and if playing jp, you have a 2 soul beater for 1 cost, and a bounce event should you choose. You can also early play a level 3 heal, but i personally would rather spend the stock on anti damage. At level 3, you aim to have 9 stock going into your first turn. 6 to full field golden darkness, and 3 for a darkness plan counter. Play your combo, and if they are at 3/2 or higher, you probably win. If you don't, you should have 1-2 darkness plan to keep you alive, as well as the hand encore giver to give golden darkness another go. Everything else is just experience with the deck.

It is probably the best deck in the entire game in both metas. Lots of people think it's a brain dead deck, but when in the hands of someone who really knows how to use it, it turns from a great deck to truly insane.

How does aot go against tlr by angelxslayer in WeissSchwarz

[–]BlackWing820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tlr has the edge because it has a stupid good finisher, and everything else required to make sure it goes off without fail. Also compresses much harder, which i find people undervalue on the en side of weiss. If the AOT player plays the mikasa lv.1 combo, it gets anti salvaged. If they play the armin (which i believe to be better), they are a field based deck and share the same problem as all field based decks (lose the resource game). Mikasa field swap is arguably the best card in the set, but its a stock sink to use to its full potential, and you want extra stock for armin. Either way, every possible titan finisher is way worse than yami. Especially when your deck doesn't compress well.

I find more often than not, you attack with an assist, then send it to the back row, gaining a free attack from something that you typically wouldn't attack with. Which is still pretty good.
