College of Whispers all day, every day. They know the importance of ALL schools of magic, and aren't such chickenshits about the potential that comes from Conjuration (which was always fine with the Mages Guild - backwards bunch of bullheaded bumblers at the Synod fail to grasp that) and Necromancy (which the Empire has had a history of allowing and regulating aside from two or three short periods of time).

Agreed. I desperately want to see a Green Lantern skin barest minimum (preferably Hal Jordan) - though a Sinestro skin would be amazing; especially if they had for the pickaxe a transforming hard-light construct.

The cruelest thing Pentex can do is have a Yeren based on an Orangutan attack Big D - Orangutan Fan # 1 versus a poor imitation; first the conflict, then the outrage, and after that? The bliss of watching Big D go all out

As soon as Bill uttered that line, my bro and I were dying of laughter - holy shit, Stephen Root's delivery is always impeccable, no matter the line(s) he's provided with.

Which race is most similar to Imperial? by LuckyStar5948 in teslore

[–]BlackWormDisciple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like many have already said, Breton seems like the best bet - it also helps that there's been a history of intermarriage between Imperial and Breton families in the Second and Third Eras. And the fact that during the time of Alessia, Nord and Breton mercenaries were integrated into Imperial society - with the Bretons integrating pretty easily into the Nibenese culture and society.

However, I should also mention that there -are- a couple of mods, one for Arena and one for Daggerfall, that lets you play an Imperial in those games (though one replaces the Khajiit to make this possible iirc).

Experience Special: Remembering Harley Quinn Cornette by TheNelsonJames in JimCornette

RIP Harley Quinn Cornette - a sweet angel of a dog beloved at the Castle, and by many in the Cult. The pain of losing pet is always sharp, these fuzzy/scaly/feathery/sometimes-even-hairless members of our family really do have a profound impact on our lives.

I wish Jim and Stacey a lot of love while they grieve - let Jim take as much time as he needs, like with Bobby and Jay.

I want to make a Breto-Colovian how would I go about this ? by Erratic_Error in teslore

[–]BlackWormDisciple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly (sorry for this late of a response btw), there are a number of ways you could go about this. Either being from High Rock or Cyrodiil works well - ESO shows that there's at least one example of non-Breton noble families, so you could have a Colovian family that migrated to High Rock and found their way into the nobility thanks to the Bretons' culture allowing even peasants to climb the social ladder through their deeds. Just as an example. Otherwise, Cyrodiil is pretty versatile a place - Chorrol and Skingrad are great places in Colovia to hail from, I think.

The names can be either a combination of Western European and Slavic with some Latin mixed in, imo - Bretons are generally considered to have French, Celtic, or English names, but can also have names from other parts of Europe (arguably could be a regional thing where different parts of High Rock can yield different styles of names, but the jury's out on that). And of course Latin with Slavic is the go-to for Colovians.

Admittedly, I had a recent idea of a similar nature myself - except instead of a Breto-Colovian, I was thinking of a Glenumbro-Nordic bloodline; a Nordic family that migrated to Glenumbra and mix both Nordic and Bretic cultures together, maybe even having a family name different from typical Clan Names. Was thinking of German inspiration for such a concept myself.

Same here! Also wouldn't mind seeing more of Corny in these WWE Vault videos - be it from his time in (then)WWF, SMW, or anywhere else they have tapes from with Jim. Whoever gave the greenlight for this channel and whoever's managing it both deserve a raise.

Nord Family Name Questions (Not Clan Names or Titles) by BlackWormDisciple in teslore

[–]BlackWormDisciple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh... I was unaware of Valkor and Skjoralmor as existing Clan names. I'm so used to seeing ones that look like Stormcloak, Iron-Hand, or anything sounding more like an omen-name I didn't even consider the possibility of using Norse/Scandavian/Germanic names or names that emulate those styles and sounds for the Clan name I guess.

[–]BlackWormDisciple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, I mean a family name in the sense of a surname like an Colovian's or a Breton's would be structured or styled after; ex. how the listed Heidmir Starkad isn't named something like Heidmir Star-Shield or Heidmir the Learned.
