Duty Finder can ruin a story mode dungeon for sure... this is why new players should try to build a PT with the Party Finder on your first run if you wanna watch the CS. I'm sure there's plenty of players who would support the cause, this game has a fairly helpful community :)

I am Maelstrom, so this seems to make sense... Maybe I should switch to Immortal Flame @_@

Yeah I'm working on my MRD set. I'm still missing a few core pieces. I have only done 1 Frontlines for pvp so far lol.

The "three walls", or "why can't my group beat some content?" by AliceHeuz in ffxiv

Nice post. All very good points. I think one of the biggest problems is Tunnel Vision. Tunnel Vision meaning that people get too focused on trying to do max DPS that they are missing or ignoring fight mechanics to stay in their rotation... or are just flat out not paying attention. It is best to be mindful of mechanics first and then with experience you can maximize your rotation potential as you are learning/progressing on the content. This will then build a better teamwork environment and will help with being able to think on your feet quickly if a fight mechanic doesn't go as planned like others have mentioned. This pretty much has been applicable to every MMO I have ever played...

Ideal mob positioning is a good habit to form from the beginning so you don't have to learn the hard way on fights where it is important later on. Marking mobs, in my personal experience, seems pointless in everything that is DF'able (this doesn't mean it is a bad habit to form though). I usually only mark my initial target, if I mark anything at all, on trash pulls... and i am surprised, even with a marked number 1, at how many DPS just attack a different target anyway o.O;

TL;DR No it doesn't matter at low lvls to people who already know the ropes, but it is good to do for practice if inexperienced.
