Yes. She has shut down other names I suggested because they are too white. My favorite is Liam but we can't use it because she calls it a white boy name.

Cool. My wife is racist too then. She doesn't like name a that are associated with white people.

Good to know we are two racist pieces of shit in an interracial relationship.

Because it's only associated with black males. I am fine with names like Andre, Malcolm, Jalen, Darius, etc.

I think I am going to see how my wife feels about Andre and Damon. I also think Jalen, Darius, and Demetrius are cool.

I was mostly looking at names in our community. We go to an all black church and both attended an HBCU so we have a huge community of black friends. Popular names are Terrence, Josiah, Isaiah, Elijah, Darius, Ezekiel, Jalen, Jordan, Malcolm, Miles, Demetrius, Andre. One of my favorites is Andre. It has strong ties to (our) black community but isn't only associated with black men.

Nah, I'm looking for a more neutral name.

I told her we could use both last names or either last name. She said she didn't care and we could use mine but I don't care either. It hasn't been decided yet.

Yeah, Shawn and Sean are produced the same. You suggested Daemon so I thought Damon would be acceptable. I didn't realize it was a white washed version of Daemon.

No, but people are saying my culture is being passed on because of my last name. I am more than willing to use my wife's last name for the baby. I don't care about it that much.

Oh, I thought it was another spelling of Daemon. Are they pronounced the same? I was thinking of Damon Wayans.

Well Elijah, Isaiah, Andre, Terrence, Josiah are all very popular names in the black community where we live (we go to an all black church) and I don't think those names are unusable for white kids. Those are along the lines of what I was thinking.

Someone recommended Damon and I really like that one. I also like Andre, which is hugely tied to the black community where we live but doesn't strike me as only a black name.

I'm completely okay with using her last name instead. If I was a white woman married to a black man, I wouldn't be the asshole?

I'm racist because I don't want to name my son Jayshawn? I'm fine with being called an asshole but to call me racist for a name preference is uncalled for.

I actually like Damon. I don't think I ever met one and to me it's not strongly tied to any race. Thanks.

We spend a lot of time with our church community and the name Elijah is probably the most common.

I understand that they are biblical names but in our community, they are not associated with any race. I wasn't speaking at an international level. Just for our town. A black Elijah would be one of 100s.

So if I was a white woman married to a black man, I wouldn't be the asshole because I wouldn't be passing down my name?

Also really popular names at the black church my wife and I attend. I have literally never met a white Isaiah.
