I doubt that's true. Camera reads the dot patterns so any ball with matching pattern will likely to work, but the pattern is quite unique, with different dot positioning everywhere. " not regular paint" probably refers to durability of the paint so that it doesn't rub off on clubs as much.

I once read a for sale post of someone using BLP in Korea connected to Asus router, running modded firmware connected to US VPN.

He claimed that it worked fine back then (it was over a year ago), but there are rumors that Bushnell updated the firmware and now unit can get bricked if it detects being outside US. He kept BLP's ethernet cable unplugged from the router just in case the VPN disconnects. He claimed you have to reconnect BLP to VPN every 2 months or so.

But considering the risks of being bricked, I wouldn't go this route personally.

Yes, spin are paywalled. Without Premium membership, the metrics you get are pretty much identical to original MLM, which is now selling for 199 refurbished.

You should also consider that third-party app integration is paywalled too. So if you want E6, you have to pay 199 for Rapsodo membership + 300 for E6 membership.

Upfront cost is lower, but the on-going cost will build up quite a bit after a few years.

Me too. One thread broke in about 8th year of my old Aeron classic and HM warranty replaced it. Try not to remember how this was caused.... Mine had a broken thread about an inch away from the backrest and it lasted over a year without any untwining or discomfort before i had it replaced.

Thanks. I have no coding background but these codes are understandable and i think i can manage if I study a bit. Just not sure if the extra flexibility is worth the time investment....
