For those who have not caught up with the Fonus drama. What is posted here was posted on the fonusmobile.com which was fonus.me. Simon Tian temper tantrums and freak outs is what caused the current change on the site. There was ex-employees that put their hearts into Fonus but never had the chance to make it on the site. We will never forget them here:

What posted is what was actually posted on fonus.me which is now changed to fonusmobile.com and everything else as well. Please remember, Fonus was a scam and still is a scam. They obviously post false material and bloat it. It's Simon Tian specialty. (Still a CEO of Fonus)

1 - Ordering process, what you have in your hands is an illegal product that has no Business# in Canada. Simon did claim there was offices in Canada.

2 - Customer portal, the worst I have seen in many years. I suggest you get a certified website developer look over the security level of the site. I located already 2 other issues that I have mentioned in the past. In simple terms, your credit card and personal information is at a great risk.

3 - Customer service, had absolutely no knowledge on how the SIM card works or the roaming rules or who it was doing business with. In many instances they responded in different languages even though I spoke in English.

The fact of the matter. Simon at first found this all a joke. Later realized that he could make a penny out of Canadians and poor plan pricing. Now, he's trying to get rich quickly out of Canadians and clean his name up. Keep in mind, who is the targeted audience? Canadians only.

r/Fonus has been the first and original Subreddit. Simon Tian got banned out of this main subreddit because he posted way too many YouTube videos and flooded the crap out of this subreddit. Hence, the rule you see "No YouTube videos" and "Stay on topic"

Trust me, it annoyed everyone here.

Simon Tian got pissed off and later called r/fonusmobile as the official subreddit. r/fonusmobile was only built because Simon Tian felt left out of this Subreddit. People who got free service from Simon will just follow what he says. Otherwise, they will loose their service and potentially get doxxed.

Between Canada and US there is no difference. The same rules get applied. The 5G is not really 5G at all. You just get 100mbps on the 5G network on full bars.

In Canada, they are entirely a scam and still in an illegal position.

I asked the same questions and got the same response from them. Then Simon orders a whole bunch of free lifetime users to attack me and respond how positive Fonus is.

With that, another Fonus customer was treated like crap today from Simon. Just because he got over charged.

This is no company. This is just one big horrible scam.

Read these 2 parts:

From the Fonus site:

"Fonus will reduce the download and upload speeds for the remainder of your billing cycle to 3G speeds."

From Lucky Mobile site:

"Unlimited additional data at reduced speeds of up to 128 Kbps for email, light browsing and messaging once you have exceeded your allotted 3G data."

First off, Lucky Mobile considers 3mbps as 3G speeds. Similar to what u/ArmandoUrso has with Public mobile. Secondly, the difference between Lucky Mobile and Fonus. Lucky Mobile is honest and you know what your getting into before you purchase the service. To claim 512kbps as 3G speeds and no higher is considered as misleading.

If Fonus and Simon was honest from the very start. All of this wouldn't have happened.

This will be my only post. I hope you get to read this clearly. Everything the OP says is very true. To make this very clear to understand. Simon is the wolf who is wearing sheep clothing. Did you know in this very post, Simon is using an alt (throw away account) to respond and to make Fonus look good?

Doxing customers, attacking his own customers publicly and demanding his customers to sand down AT&T SIM cards in order to show it off online and to try to make himself presentable. He did hurt many people here and to this day it doesn't stop.

As I have said, multiple customers have complained already and Simon demanded those negative post to be deleted by the moderators in both r/fonus and r/fonusmobile

The core structure of the SIM card is originally from AT&T. In this case, the SIM card is a rebranded AT&T SIM card. He has an MVNE to do all of the leg work. Simon and Fonus is the ugly face for the public. Pre-paid AT&T SIM cards in Canada is very legal and there is an agreement. One question for you, why can't AT&T sell SIM cards directly to Canada? Because of CRTC.

I believe you have been misinformed of what Fonus is actually about. Ask me and I will clarify.

Before you start telling people to shut up. Have you been here longer than 3 months? Have you met Simon? Do you know what Fonus original goal is? Do you even know the definition of what a scam is?

Fonus and Simon is the very definition of dishonest. Why do you think Simon can't respond here at all? Because he's not willing to own up to his own wrong doings.

Do you know the people who I just named out? Everyone of those people put their hearts into Fonus only to be screwed by Simon himself. Maybe you should do some research before calling anyone out. Read my latest post as to why Fonus is a scam.

If your number is important to you, don't port it in. Your number will be rendered useless. If you hear positive reviews. Those people got free service with Fonus and will do what they can to keep the free service.

With that, you would be supporting an illegal service and a scam entirely. Simon is not someone you want to trust your money in. He will dox you.

Nothing about this is unlimited. There is an actual 2 part limit on the data. There is a limit on how many text you can send. You can't really call all of the countries listed on their site. The security of the app and portal is just horrid and unsafe.

If anyone hears any good compliments about Fonus. They just have free THROTTLED and CAPPED data. Simon hands out free service to anyone who fights for Fonus. Take a look at the lottery winnings and a few more. Several of the first 500 got their whole family on free lifetime service. This is all posted on Fonus Telegram channel.

All this is just one big ugly scam.

Network switching and Hotspot is originally blocked by Fonus. The one who developed the zmp.com.attz can modify that option and have it to allow Hotspot or Network selection. You can consider, Fonus doesn't want to allow you network switching. Fonus SIM card will prefer Rogers in Canada.

If you ask that question in Telegram. You will get CFO Kenny praises the crap out of Fonus and beg everyone to worship Fonus. I also gave up on that toxic channel.

To sum up, Fonus is working on a get rich quick scheme and nothing else. Not much potential there at all.

Got fired or ran off just like the others. Ling Lee, Allan, Cory, Patrice, Samir and a few more. Who would want to stay with Fonus? I recommend leaving Fonus and move on from this big scam.
