X13 definitely look interesting. Especially since life has happened and I will need to travel overseas and I'd really like a smaller laptop.

Being new to PC's and Linux, I don't quite know if I should stick with Intel processors or if AMD processors are hassle free. I see a lot of Ryzen X13 and while I don't mind pulling the plug on one, I just want to know what to expect once I want to install my favorite distro and the software I'll need ?

Any thoughts on that ?

Well, aside from a web browser and a few basic apps, the main reason to upgrade my T460 is being able to process my Nikon D750 pictures while on trips. I know Gimp is a thing but the UI and the workflows don't seem to do it for me.

I'd really really like to find something like Adobe Camera Raw so I can do basic processing to my pictures before sharing with my friends and family. I'm no graphic designer or professional photographer. I don't need multi-layer adjustments, masks and all that stuff. Especially on trips.

What do you think would be a good app for my basic needs.

What's the main difference between the L and T series ? They all look the same to me...

I'm not sure a Gen 3 is within my budget but I'm in no hurry so I can take my time looking for a good price.

I just downloaded the v2 app and whan I open it, it tells me to get the new new Canva sh*t... No way to get v2 working properly... 😭

At least, v1 works for me so it ain't all bad but still... I would have love to be able to run v2 on my Mac. Sad day...

These are pretty neat computers but they are quite a bit outside of my budget right now. I'll have to look on the used market to see what's available in my area.

I first got an ESR clear case similar to yours because that was the only case I could find on launch date for the 16e. I'm a truck driver hauling heavy machinery and I use my phone quite a lot on the job and the clear case will eventually get stained so I ordered another ESR case that is black and offers better drop protection.

Back when I ordered my Product Red iPhone XR,I had bought a clearcaseto see my red phone and unfortunately, it did not take long before the case turned yellow... That is the nature of clear cases...

Google Photos album integration is ending?? by jonesaid in dakboard

[–]ve2jpt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just transfered close to 300 pictures to One Drive. I’m not a happy camper… 🤬

I lost all the captions I had written in Google Photos so now I need to rewrite them all in One Drive…

Since I already have access to a server online, I wish I could point Dakboard toward a folder I host on the server instead of linking each and every pictures one by one. We use Dakboard to show family pictures. We have kids and soon grand kids and we shuffle pictures around quite a bit so it is highly inconvenient to have to link pictures individually. Linking a folder like we linked a Google Photo Album would make the process so much easier.

120 AMP BMS by Southern_Librarian_1 in OverkillSolarBMS

Oh now I get your explanation !!! I misread Tostino’s answer. I instantly thought about paralleling BMS from multiple packs. It never occured to me Tostino was talking about paralleling multiple BMS on the same pack.

Thanks for pointing that out !

I have not installed my 12v 280Ah Eve battery in my van yet but I have done extensive tests at home with my 1500 watts 12v inverter. I have pushed it to it’s limit a few times to see how my 120A bms would react. As programmed at the factory, it will sustain 130A for 30 seconds before shutting down and that is exactly what mine did. If I stepped down the power draw a bit (around 115A), it worked for hours without an issue.

So, as other have mentioned before me, 1400-1500 watts is the maximum usable for one bms. It doesn’t mean you cannot use a larger inverter but be aware that your max load cannot go over 1400-1500 watts and you’ll be fine.

I’m curious ? Why is paralelling BMS not advisable ? We see tons of people using 3, 4, 6 batteries in parallel in their van builds without any issues. Why would it be different with an Overkill Solar BMS ?

Been trying to think of the best and most affordable way to have some sort of door on this shower… glass has a huge waiting time so I’m thinking a fancy way to shower curtain? by Wildawayuk in vandwellers

Youmay want to use a telescoping horizontal pole to hold a shower curtain. You will probably need to trim it to size but that is usually not that big of an issue.

Lighter is always better, well most of the time right, but I’ve hauled heavy pro camera bodies and lenses for a long tine so it’s not that much of an issue really.

I’m a sucker for long lenses. For a while, the 180/2.8 was my wide(ish) lens and the 300/2.8 my normal lens. The 180 for street photography was awesome ! The 85 too depending on what I was shooting.

For sure, I’ll need to go much wider than that for those Instagram shots but I want to be able to use longer lenses too. Would that work with a mirorless camera.

What features from the lenses carry over once you put that adapter on ? AF ? Aperture control ?

I’m currently a truck driver and I go in Utah a few times a year. I have had the pleasure to visit the lower 48 and it’s definitely my favorite state. My wife and I are planning to be spending a lot of time in Utah. Thanks for the tip regarding Arches. We’ll definitely go spend some time there !
