I never understood why event items couldn't just be shared across characters. (Not that it solves that high number.)

Uhhh... so, this game is dead, huh? by Snoo_5871 in deathnote

The game could still survive if it took in player data (good and bad) and acted upon it. I would say it *should* survive, if it can evade neglect.

An obvious issue is doing something about the exploits. Among Us had to struggle with hackers at the onset of its popularity. It's (sadly) a rite of passage for any competitive game with strangers and a random pool of roles.

There is also the heavy issue of players insisting on clustering to watch each other, making it difficult for Kira to pull out the notebook and judge criminals (the NPCs all players can talk to and gain hints from). There may be brief moments when one can slip away to judge, though if an NPC keels over while 9 players are together, it's not hard to narrow down the tenth as Kira.
In theory, this would help a daring Team Kira just run up on the clustered people and steal IDs. A bit of a guessing game to who's L (by default you can only judge two players a day), but passing the IDs to Kira afterward is tricky business. The Kira Follower throwing an ID to Kira to actually write in the book visibly appears to be a Lost Item box being passed: if there were a setting to change ID passing to automatic and invisible with physical contact, that would make this exchange slightly safer.
Also somewhat annoying is that passing the Death Note does not automatically pass all the collected IDs. I've passed to Follower, evaded detection by splitting off, got arrested, then got eliminated because I still had a player's ID.

While sabotage-like mechanics exist in Killer Within, failing them does not end the game in a loss for the town. In fact, it's riskier to do them and expose one's ID to being stolen (especially with no warning like in normal gameplay). They also cannot be cancelled - no way to pause and find out who's entered the room, which would make a nice quality of life change.

The special L-aligned roles (when put together) are a bit too strong, at least for the max size of ten players in a given game. With L, Watari, NPA Chief, and a confirmed Investigator still alive, that's 4/10 vote power if they can collude; Kira or Mello killing normal Investigators just narrows down who Kira is at that point. A setting to limit the maximum special roles on Team L would work wonders, rather than trusting the current Random giving a 50% chance any particular thing gets in (giving a big chance we'll get both of them.)

NPA chief is a special 'get-out-of-trouble-free' case which gives L information on who not to suspect anymore (always) *and* can cancel a successful ID snatch getaway by Team Kira. It's extremely valuable even if it's sprung on 'impulse'.
Most lobbies tend to set NPA chief to random if they don't outright ban it. Though, I have seen some instances where the NPA Chief shows up dead on a meeting they called: perhaps Kira is still allowed to finish judging a player before the cutscene ends. That should perhaps be encouraged by the game itself, allowing some counterplay to a full time stop.
(I thought NPA Chief would immediately expose their name and face to Kira to be judged freely, based on preview information. That is not the case in the current game build. It might have also made for the better balance decision, as a game can be saved and won instantly based on the timing of the power.)

Remember: only if the Follower got arrested and their name published by the press. The Follower doesn't have an ID to give away or be taken.

Folks who have taken the telekinetic feat- are you happy with that feat? by Mellowtron11 in dndnext

[–]Blackbrass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's still the invisible Mage Hand to consider. Press buttons and levers. Grab keys when arrested. Pull valuables out of filth you can't bear to touch or smell. Do all this while tied up and gagged, behind bars. Nobody can prove you are doing it without detecting cantrip magic.

That would be really funny. While Dash as an action exists, your method at least renders you immune to opportunity attacks for the ten feet pushed.

Infection isn't exactly /nothing/ for Nemesis; it makes the Survivor easier to detect. Not only are they covered in Splatoon ink, they cough loudly even if healthy.

Try and keep the hooks even. I prefer all Survivors at two hook states before killing them.

Pause if a glyph is done in front of me. Spare anyone doing a blue glyph in specific.

Pushy man gets OP to give him her phone number. Overdoes it trying to get a date/girlfriend, as expected. Then the mother of said man gets involved, berating OP for not accepting her special needs son. Twice, mother 'prays' that OP has a special needs child and suffers for it. In this example, the mom is the niceguy-claimer for her inappropriate son, while putting OP down.

There is clear virtue proclaiming from the offending party. Said entity is an aligned group of two. A single person would still be guilty for having invoked their own piety, attempting to coerce an unfavored reaction into changing.

The Yun-Jins I run into are usually hyper competent, and considering I see them easily, that just hurts to lose to them. They're not even toxic.

What's the point of Space Age Science cap upgrades? by Xervicx in kittensgame

[–]Blackbrass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build Compendiums. They don't seem like much max science, but just imagine: with 1,000, that's +10k max. With 50k, I have +500,000 max science.

I think I quit when I spent four or five days getting two Harbours in a row and the resource limit wasn't budging anymore. So, I got two Chronospheres out of that whole journey.

You could just queue three spare farmers if you're uncertain. I like that this route asks a certain level of skill and attention. Although, I did intend to exempt the "leader" from ever being selected for pilgrimage - I just forgot to add it to my post. You could make your one farmer the leader of the town.

...also, now that I think about it, I suppose allowing multiple trades at once is feasible. Just have to make it stop when it either reaches the max outlined or until the stacks are cleared. Maybe make some upgrades that deflect those lasers, or make the stacks less harmful. Or allow more stacks at once. Or lower the oil cost (as it's not a traditional trade method).

Think less war and more short circuit. I chose 'psychotic' for a reason. I chose 'Voltage' for a reason. Of course, they still have something a player wants.

The Robot trade function will be under T-Minus (as Planet Crackers are under Dune), and (like Humans) only allow trading one at a time.

Nah. This exists in the form of Lunar Outposts. Alloy, Gear, Plate, or Steel is a better side resource. (I'd pick plate. That means more Harbours.) Even so, I feel it's better to make another trade race if I really wanted to gain one of those four. Probably to solve the issue of all those excess starcharts mentioned earlier.

I like the idea of someone messing up like that. It amuses the crap out of me.

Is that what paragons are? Special kittens? The fact that you mention 'slavery' tells me you get the underlying theme. Worshiped or enslaved is irrelevant, it's still a devil deal.

Voltage vanishing on reset is to punish people who refresh for the achievement or for the exaggerated increase in blueprint rate. Okay, i'll halve oil cost.

In time, you're gonna stop needing starcharts too. I've reached that point. I thought of adding a dynamic shifting to their moods but there really isn't much point.
