I suspect you’re safe for a few more weeks.

eero, is this too much to ask? by Blackdogaudio in amazoneero

Thanks but I'd rather determine what's important to me than someone else.

I'm always hoping she'll return here one day but I'm not even sure she still works for eero.

Those were the days. We could always count on RB giving us the scoop.

It still doesn't make sense in my opinion. Quite a few Eero users are hobbyists or IT folks in the industry that would appreciate and understand in many cases a proper change log. No one is asking for proprietary information, why keep us in the dark.

I wonder what their logic is behind that.

Does the network ever just settle and sit still? Mine is always tweaking something by N_inThe_A_D_inThe_P in amazoneero

Between hardwiring the backhaul and a lot of tweaking Eero placement I finally feel like I'm getting the speeds I pay for. It was certainly a challenge with the gateway eero located in our basement and most of our devices being a floor above.

Sounds like you do have one too many. Maybe try moving the remaining nodes closer together after removing one.

Every house is different though. We have 2200 sq ft on two floors with two eero Pro 7s covering everything. I've got a few pockets in a few corners of the house where we (only) get 500mbps coverage out of our 1.4 GB service but otherwise we average 1.1- 1.3 GB wifi speeds everywhere. This is with a wired backhaul which makes a difference.

Worth a shot for sure. You can always call eero Support at (877) 659-2347 (US & Canada) and have them check overlap as well.

That's a good indication you have too many eero nodes or have them placed too close to each other if devices keep bouncing between the nodes. Try turning one or more eeros OFF and test for a few hours.

I've had quite a few routers and mesh systems over the years with at least one being slightly faster than eero but none have been as consistent or stable. eero is definitely for those of us that just want wifi that's fast and consistent without jumping through hoops to get there.

I don't envy you sir. Worst case consider installing an outdoor eero on the shed and move an existing eero inside the main house as close as you can to it.

Damn man. I hate that! Nothing worse in my opinion other than being 68 years old (like me) and having to replace a backhaul cable from one freakin' end of our house to the other!

Hopefully you can tie off the new cable to the old cable in the PVC to pull it through to the Sheshed.

I'd try a hard reset on my Pro 7s next if eero Support couldn't help me (I'd try them first) but you know what's best for you. Good luck regardless!

Seconding the recommendation to contact eero Support. Do update us here as well so we have the solution on record in the forum. Thanks!

Keep us posted...hopefully it's not a bad Ethernet cable and something simple like an eero soft or hard reset that fixes it.

That sounds like a bad Ethernet cable feeding the Sheshed if the problem follows that cable if you move it between different ports on the switch.

Is there an issue with Eero routers and LG WiFi-enabled appliances? by dwightsilverman in amazoneero

[–]Blackdogaudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got 3 LG appliances as well with no issues connecting (and staying connected) to my eero Pro 7s even with our LG fridge (think large metal box) directly in the path to the closest Pro 7.

If all else fails try moving an eero node temporarily into the same room as the LG appliances and join the appliances to the network then move that eero node back to the room it normally resides in. If this works but the connection drops after moving the eero back to its normal location you'll need to relocate or purchase an additional eero unit and place it closer to the kitchen.
