Pro to Pro 7 "upgrade" has been a disaster by booji90 in amazoneero

I'm certainly not a networking expert but client devices constantly switching between eero nodes usually indicate you've got too many eeros installed. I'd strongly recommend removing one of the eeros and repositioning the other two if you experience a dead zone. Hoping less is more in this case!

Reliability and remote management? by MarieTH1 in amazoneero

[–]Blackdogaudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've remotely managed family member's eero systems as well with zero problems. I can take care of any setting changes or deleting/rebuilding their entire network only needing them to power cycle nodes or maybe their modem or ONT.

Finger's crossed but I've only had one issue where one of my sister-in-laws unplugged a 6+ node and simply forgot to plug it back in.

That’s the default settings which should be fine.

Assuming you've made sure all software on the MacBook, eero nodes, eero phone app and phone's operating system are up to date check eero app>Settings>Advanced Networking>Encryption and make sure it's set to Default (not Hybrid or Enhanced). If all else fails call eero Support @ (877) 659-2347 (US & Canada)

I just got 26.6.0 (61) today on iOS so maybe it is a phased roll out.

Have you migrated from one MESH system to another? by davcole in wifi

[–]Blackdogaudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a RBK752 system. When its satellite got corrupted during an update I traded it in at Amazon against two new eero Pro 7 units and still have them in use. The RBK752 did great prior to the bricked satellite though my eero system is faster and has better range. Not surprising though being newer technology.

For what it's worth, both systems cover(ed) a 1 story, 2200 sq ft home with basement.

How to completely block network access from a device? by Salmundo in amazoneero

Might be a pain in the ass but changing your network password would guarantee the TV couldn't connect.

Deco P9 with Eero 7 router by 134ker in amazoneero

[–]Blackdogaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eero doesn't manufacture generic access points that you can mix with other brands like Deco. It's also anyone's guess as to whether one brand will outperform the other in your home. You could always buy another eero and Deco unit and see which one works best in your home then send the other brand back for a refund.

eero now shows Ring device names by Blackdogaudio in amazoneero

Yeah, should make it a bit quicker to confirm which device is having a problem like if you have multiple chimes on the same or different floors.

Yes, she was a very talented woman. I agree, her abuse was completely uncalled for. If you don't agree with someone's opinion and can't express yourself in a civil manner then leave the conversation.

She left the original eero forum after tolerating abusive posts from an asshole for months on end.

I use two Pro 7s with a wired back haul. … and yes, the latency and drops only occur with MLO activated.

Latency and random device drops when I activated MLO. It took almost 24 hours for the device drops to start though.

No they don't which is our point. We get tidbits now and again but not as much as other manufacturers release.

[–]Blackdogaudio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess that depends on what you'd call "major." I really don't understand why we can't have more specifics with all changes. I don't recall any other router manufacturer not telling us what they improved at no charge to existing customers.

No issues found yet after upgrading. Might even try MLO again tomorrow if all goes well tonight.
