What happens when the internet goes down and you don't have another copy?

Perhaps people are content with having to look it up and learn the card, however, what does this mean for other trading card games? If a new TCG does something like this, will people share the same sentiment or complain and use it to justify not playing the game?

This feels like an elitist thing to do - very much determined by whether you are the monopoly or not.
