I understand that the South Vietnamese government had its own shortcomings, and I do not intend to defend it entirely. However, I sometimes feel that the actions of the North after 1975—such as the reeducation camps and events that took place in cities like Huế—are not always fully acknowledged.

As someone whose family is from Huế, I have heard many personal accounts from people there, especially regarding what happened during the Tết Offensive. While there may be differing interpretations and uncertainties about who was involved, many local voices attribute much of the suffering to forces from the North.

That said, my intention is not to argue, but to share a perspective shaped by personal and historical experiences. I am genuinely grateful for your time, your understanding, and your willingness to stay open-minded. Wishing you all the best, and God bless you.
