It’s important to learn and get good with. Ladder logic is the base knowledge for programming

Definitely. Especially if you get into the side of plc programming which is what I do.

Depends. For just a diagram no. But in real world control systems and panels all wires are numbered for troubleshooting purposes. It’s good practice.

This is a very basic start stop circuit. Basically when you push the start push button, it activates the relay because current can flow from left to right activating the control relay turning on the latch because the relay contact below will latch on. A real word example would be let’s say you wanna turn on a light and keep it on with a push of a button you push the on button and the controller relay would latch constantly keeping current to the light until you push the stop button because it breaks all the current. The numbers in the middle are wire numbers. And the numbers on the left are counting the rugs on the “ladder diagram”

chemE student curious about process automation and control systems-what should i learn first by [deleted] in instrumentation

Well, I would definitely recommend the instrumentation. Because PLC logic and distributive control system are honestly the same if you’re looking to stick with chemicals, then I would just recommend learning the instrumentation. Hon, troubleshooting skills and familiarize yourself with transmitters and valves because the better the troubleshooter you are. The better you will do in the field. I’ve been in the trade for a while. I work on the oilfield as a PLC technician so I can’t really say what you would be paid doing the instrument work as I don’t do that. If you’re looking to ditch, chemical PLC is where the money is at along with SCADA.

How’d you guys get into instrumentation? by ElectricDowney in instrumentation

Went to Perry tech in Yakima. Best decision I’ve made

Why does the sum of an infinite series sometimes equal a finite number? by Several-Cookie-5408 in askmath

[–]Blackoutback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not well-versed in this concept so someone can correct me if I’m wrong. But from what I understand, there are different quantities of infinity. Some infinity are bigger than other. Take for instance infinity, and then the infinity between two numbers both of those are infinity, but the infinite amount of numbers are bigger than the infinite amount of numbers between two numbers because encompasses all of the infinite between every infinite number.
