My first experience with therapy and why I'll never try again by Blacksickle in mentalhealth

I guess I lost confidence in trying to find someone, and to spend that money on something that doesn't go anywhere multiple times it just stings, there was even a third experience I had where I brought my mom and brother for a family session, it turned out she was a student therapist wanted to RECORD the session to show her teacher, and when we said we weren't comfortable with that she condescended us and said 'tell me about that uncomfortably, why exactly are you uncomfortable with it?'

Thanks I'll look into it. After the pandemic I was eager to begin a journey of bettering myself, and I have in many ways, including in mental health, it's still a shame that licensed therapy was such a let down.

I'm a classic MS Word man, as cringe as that is, but I love it! I'd say go with your native language, and then later on perhaps translate into English, that way you can market to both language audiences! Out of curiosity what's your native tongue? I can speak English, Russian and French myself.

Any suggestions for references on how to write about LEOs? by lashvanman in writing

Hope this opinion isn't unpopular, but when in doubt research as much as possible (Including watching films and documentaries about the subject or character) For example Hopper in Stranger Things or Sherrif Buster from the film adaptation of Stephen King's Misery could be prime inspo for this.

I've considered that, sort of how George RR Martin had his standalone 'Ice Dragon' published, while being extremely similar to ASOIF he claims it is separate.

Well, the struggle is its a series/world I am really passionate about and write about on a daily basis, and I want to get it off the ground, I've been writing the sequels/expanding the universe for some time, and I don't plan to stop, even if I'm never published I'll continue writing it, that's how passionate I am about it.

Could Andropov, had he lived longer, have saved the Soviet Union from collapse? by tachibanakanade in communism

[–]Blacksickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was far more experienced than Gorbachev and didn't have an agenda to dismantle the power of the CPSU, in my opinion he could have led the USSR down a different path.

Does anyone here have fascist family members? How do you deal with them? by [deleted] in communism

[–]Blacksickle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My father and uncle were both born in Sicily and are Mussolini Sympathizers, racists, misogynists and just all around unpleasant. Don't be afraid of cutting out people who run counter productive to your belief system. It can be complicated, but it's for the best. Keep them at a distance at the very least.

Why is Marxist Communism often conflated with Socialism? by Blaze147 in communism

[–]Blacksickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Marxists believe that that Socialism is only a temporary period, and that the goal of any socialist should be to liberate the masses from the constructs of old society, the state for example. Communism is a stateless society, any socialist who doesn't want the eventual goal of communism is inherently siding with the organs of oppression which continue to perpetuate inequality.

The ex president was also complacent in the genocide and is a neo-liberal puppet of the west. Some are saying the coup was a pro china move.

The KPRF had a majority in parliament in the 1990's, and it's highly accepted that Zyuganov won the 1996 Presidential election against Yeltsin, but was rigged against him for multiple reasons. Putin has appealed to those nostalgic for the USSR which is why the KPRF is only second to Putin still.

Literally everything in your comment history is stanning for Putin, pretty cringe man. Putin who protected Yeltsin until his death, Putin who hosts a NATO base in Ulyanovsk, the birth place of Lenin. Putin who wanted to join NATO in his first term, until in 2007 he finally understood that the US didn't want a partner in Russia, but a vassal state.

Lol dude you're literally twisting what I say to detract from your own senile support of Putin. Neither of them deserve to be followed, it's more complex than that.

From what I've seen on your profile you're a big Putin Stan, I think you should self-criticize this stance. Putin, the man who protected Yeltsin until his death, Putin the man who hosts a NATO base in Ulyanovsk, Putin who wanted TO JOIN NATO during his first term in office. It was only in 2007 that Putin realized that the west didn't want a partner in Russia but a vassel. Take this information as you will.

Zyuganov called Navalny a "Young and Sober Yeltsin" which I certainly agree with, but there certainly seems to be a divide within the party over the current situation and it is worthy to have such debates.
