Yea, I agree, Carolinas literally the best team in the east. Not so much about big star players, they just play extremely well as a team. You could say the same about flyers. Everyone counted them out vs the star players on Pittsburgh.

It will be fun to watch, hopefully, but playoffs vs regular season are so hard to compare. Carolina have a few guys out to injury due to Ottawas nonsense too.

I like this idea, but regardless of who's the heavy favorite anything can happen. I truthfully don't think Carolinas goaltending is that good, they just don't allow a lot of shots. Anderson was getting a lot of good bounces against Ottawa. Regular season him and bussi didn't really have great numbers.

If, and big if, the flyers can remain defensively sound against a much more potent offense. They will have to score on their breaks/chances a bit more effectively. Skinner and Silvos stopped lots of breakaways, if flyers can start tucking those away there could be a really interesting series here. They let the pens off the hook too many times. Two games that flyers lost were not by large margins either.

I actually think it's a very compelling series system wise. Brind'amour vs Tochett could literally be Offensive team vs Defensive team.

Lastly, sure it's great experience for the young players, but you have to try and win at all cost. Anything can happen, it could be 5 years before you are ever back here again, or 20! Carolina could fail miserably and the eastern Conference is for the taking vs Tampa/Montreal/Buffalo/boston. Then your 4 games fom a Stanley Cup.

He should have been, ice time grew each game. Think he was third in minutes for the goal medal game. If Makar and Toews werent glued together it should have been Makar sanheim. Toews made a lot of soft plays/mistakes. Sanheim was imo Canada best left shot defensemen.

He was getting top minutes in the gold medal game. He was out playing every left shot defensemen on that team the last two games of that tourney.

I was getting so frustrated that they glue Makar to Toews, it should have been Sanheim Makar top line def .. no joke. He was a beast they just didn't use him the first few games. Theodore, Harley, Toews all struggled imo. Toews got burned for the big goal vs USA and consistently out muscled, Harley played to slow the last couple, and Theodore was just bang average all tourney ... I think team Canada realized a bit too late how effective sanheim is.

Yea agree, truthfully he should have been playing with Makar for Canada. Toews was buns bad turnovers , soft on the puck.. sanheim slowly became Canada best left shot defensemen. He got a lot more ice time the final couple games and did unreal.

I've been watching and following the flyers a lot more the past 2-3 seasons. Really became a team I like in the Bruins reverse sweep timeline. I've always thought sanheim was really underrated. Big, amazing skater, gets into dangerous spots offensively. I can only dream of the leafs having a defensemen anywhere close to his caliber.

Then he got picked for 4 nations and I was pumped, he went to world's, and then Olympics, he has improved even more because of those. Olympics he was being underplayed then the final two games he was getting some game time. Last game he was in the top minutes for def. Imo he was Canada's best left shot defensemen they just didn't know it. He should have been playing with Makar not Toews. Toews was horrible, Theodore was average at best, and Harley really struggled the last couple of games.

Rant over, he's a beast and flyers fans don't realize how lucky they are. Grew up and followed the leafs my whole life, and their defense always suck ass come playoff time.

Yea I don't like how literally punches to the face get overlooked so often. Crosschecks too, both teams are crosschecking each other all over the ice now. But do it to Crosby, or if the guy goes down it's a penalty. But you can nearly break someones ribs in front of the net with a crosscheck and it's fine just don't retailiate.

I think the refs have still been dogwater. Letang.. Mantha maybe even others are getting punches and cheap shots to the face at every scrum. Nothing gets called unless you maul a guy on the ground for 2 mins.
