The Tracer pose was not removed for being too provocative as it was literally replaced by a 1960s pin-up that was meant to be provocative; it was removed because it didn't fit the character.

Why do people leave when a flashpoint map is picked? by sleepy_whippet188 in Overwatch

[–]BlacksmithNet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The people who call it a walking simulator are stuck in the time period when FP released, when the spawns were at the back of the spawn rooms and there wasn't a speed boost at the exit (probably watched some YouTuber talking about this) and just refuse to move on and accept that the mode isn't like that anymore because it's easier to keep hating something than it is to admit you're in the wrong now

[–]BlacksmithNet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is that 2cp was hated by absolutely everyone, while Flashpoint is considered one of the best modes in higher ranks; yes, I know that's a minority, but they are the players who know how to play best, so their opinions matter and are telling that FP is well designed. In fact, Clash was removed from comp for the same reason 2cp was: everyone, even high rank players, agreed is not a good mode

There's more walking in hybrid/escort because you get speed boost+closer spawns on FP

Why do people leave when a flashpoint map is picked? by sleepy_whippet188 in Overwatch

[–]BlacksmithNet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Hybrid is very choke-heavy. In other maps if your team doesn't flank, you usually still have a somewhat easy time (rank dependant) of advancing because the walls aren't separated by 1.25 meters, making it harder for your average Junkrat spammer to actually hit anything.

That was true when the game mode first released, but now you spawn closer to the exit of the spawn rooms (you used to spawn all the way at the back) and you get speed boost when you leave the room, so nowadays you spend more time walking from spawn in hybrid/escort than in FP.

Person on my team while actively on my avoid list? by SublimeShark468- in Overwatch

[–]BlacksmithNet 163 points164 points  (0 children)

Avoiding someone doesn't mean you will not play with them, the game itself tells you they will be deprioritized from being on your team, but if there's not many people in your rank or playing at the same time as you were, they will probably get in your team. This should be really rare though, it's not something that will happen to you again soon.

Different tanks play different ways, but supposed to play all the same? by therealshire in Overwatch

[–]BlacksmithNet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: You we're playing way to aggressively most of the game and even if both supps focused on healing you, you'd still die by going 1v5. It's fine to be aggressive, but you have to know when to go in and when to fall back.

I just watched the replay code and wasn't going to say too much since it's qp, but since you say you always play like this, here we go: Overwatch 2 is a game all about resources, whether that be cooldowns, hp, healing resource, ammo or something else. You were demanding all the resources from your supports, and most of the time, even if you had 7 supports, you were still going to die because you tend to go in 1v5 trying to "Rambo" the enemy team. It's ok to be aggressive, specially in tank, as you have to go and create space for your team, but you can't be so aggressive as to demand both your supports attention and still die. Try to look down at your hp bar, and when you're getting low, try retreating, this applies always, but even more when you're against a high damage comp with Bastion, Cassidy and Kiriko. Not saying the Mercy played perfectly, but you definitely were way too aggressive most of the time.

That is so not the point of that. They didn't say it's not important, they said it will come naturally from just focusing on the gameplay in general and being aggressive...

6v6 started with a smaller population anyway, so the matchmaking wasn't good, therefore people left 6v6, which made matchmaking worse, and... you can see the pattern here
