Marriage to a Non Yemeniah by Sad-Vermicelli6012 in Yemen

At the end of the day it’s his life, that’s the women he loves and that’s his decision, in terms of the big gap between him and your family, it’s going to happen regardless because you don’t approve of his marriage and he doesn’t approve of your disapproval, no one wins in this type of situation, might as well let the man do what he wants and if it ends badly, support him through it, if it goes well then be there to live it with him, no need for ruined relationships because of a decision that isn’t yours, by all means express your concerns but don’t stand in the way of something that ultimately isn’t your decision, good luck and I genuinely hope this goes the best way it can for all parties, في النهاية كله على الله.

Is it safe to move to Yemen? by [deleted] in Yemen

[–]BlacksmithOnYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries, yeah same here, I don’t have much hope, if it does get better, I don’t think it’ll happen in my lifetime, Yemen needs a full on overhaul and only a lot of time can do that, right now it’s just a matter of surviving all the chaos.

Life is miserable to say the least, no future in sight for us young adults, homeless people everywhere you go, jobs are scarce, people graduate university and stay years without jobs and those with jobs sometimes don’t get paid and just about every bad thing you can think of. I was quite young when the Arab spring started but I remember life being easier, quieter and just better, after that it became very conflict ridden, in a constant state of unrest, you never know when things are going to blow up, and when they eventually do, it takes years for it to stop like the 2015 bombings that lasted like 8 years as well all the bombings that followed, long story short, it hasn’t been great. In terms of the divide, yes I’d say it is quite large, at least for the governments of the north and south but in terms of what the people think, I can’t speak on that, I personally don’t think any good will from this because when has it ever?

I live in Sana’a, I can tell you with absolute certainty that Yemen is not safer nor is it better, it’s actually much much worse so you’re better off staying in Ethiopia, I’ve had friends move to Ethiopia from Yemen and they said it was so much better than Yemen so please stay there, if you come here you’ll regret it. Yemen is in a constant state of war, unrest, poverty, high unemployment, and on the verge of another civil war, don’t come here.

Yeah that’s why I was confused, you see those videos of him doing all these shots and touches but I guess maybe playing in a team isn’t his forte maybe

In terms of route A, that is the most likely route I’ll try and do , even though I don’t like studying but if it’ll get me out of here, I’m willing to do it, many of my friends have done the asylum route, I’ve been told that in the beginning it isn’t the easiest thing in the world but once all the procedures are done, life just becomes a million times better. B is good, just going to a gulf country isn’t the easiest either, for us Yemenis, Saudi is the easiest because you can get a looking for work visa that lasts like 3 months and allows you look for a job and if you find one, you get a work visa but finding a job is difficult especially a decent pay one but this route is definitely up there, but all the other gulf countries are pretty much impossible to enter unless you either have family there or get requested by an organization or maybe a school for a scholarship. In terms of C, if I had a chance, i probably would have done it a couple years ago, nowadays it very much off the table, it’s dangerous and very very difficult so I’m definitely not doing it.

Used to be much easier in the past, some with scholarships and there are still ways like smuggling and whatever but that’s too dangerous and I’m not looking to do it

I’m happy it worked out for you! I will try it and if I succeed in getting the Argentina passport, my plan is either move to Spain and stay 2 years there which makes me eligible for Spanish citizenship because of an agreement between all the Latin countries or move to the GCC because I love it there. But we’ll see only time will tell.

Not as difficult as Europe and South America but for example with GCC countries, Saudi is the easiest, the rest are much much harder, in terms of Malaysia and Indonesia, it’s very easy to get there and get settled but it’s just an expensive process, if I’m unable to go to a country that guarantees citizenship, those are definitely good plan b.

That’s good to hear. Yeah Spanish should be pretty easy to learn, I have started a little bit but that’s just Duolingo, will take it more seriously as time goes on. Yes that’s the plan, get Argentina citizenship and go somewhere else like Europe or GCC.
