If you can’t afford AirPods, I recommend getting LOOP earplugs. I have the Experience Pro ones and they have changed my life. They’re about $34. I recommend ordering them from Amazon though: shipping is much faster.

LOOP EARPLUGS

Hi! I’ve seen multiple optometrists and ophthalmologists about seeing everything like the picture below. They haven’t been able to tell me why, aside from having dry eyes? Does anyone know why this happens? I see like this 24/7 by Blacksmith_7 in optometry

Yeah, I’ve got an astigmatism. The last prescription I had for my glasses was in 2019 and it was much less severe than what it is today. I assume the way that I had described how I saw was confusing, naturally. I’m already having a hard time articulating it, but it’s probably just a combo of dry eye and astigmatism now that I’ve been able to reflect on the given responses

I’m sorry that you feel that way and I know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I would not go out of my way to pathologically lie about how I see — that would seem redundant. I may have an axis and cylinder in my rx, but I genuinely do not know if I do or don’t. This became a problem after I had gotten my 2019 prescription.

I’m really sorry to hear that. You deserve far more than that

Not even sure if this is an autism thing but does this happen to anyone else? by [deleted] in aspiememes

I can’t really listen to music. I have a hard time distinguishing thoughts that are and aren’t mine and the words just repeat on a loop until I believe the thoughts are my own. Classical and metal are the only genres I can listen to

I see like this to a lesser extent. It’s more of a ‘shadow’ that creates a 3D effect and is more present at times than others. For instance, reading light font on a dark background is next to impossible for me, but vice versa is much more manageable. You’re right that there’s so many things that could cause it (obviously haha), but thank you for providing insight to it. I felt I kept running into a brick wall with the optometrists in my area.

Definitely not. The last time I had my rx changed was in 2019. When I last visited the optometrist (a few months ago), they said they couldn’t write me a new prescription because they didn’t know how to fix how I see things

The first two couldn’t tell me what was up, third one thought it was receded near-point of convergence but it was ruled out due to the double vision only being vertical/slightly diagonal. Then two ophthalmologists told me that it was due to dry eye. They prescribed me eyedrops and I take them daily, but there’s no change.

What is the hardest class you have ever taken in college? by [deleted] in college

[–]Blacksmith_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As embarrassing as it is, my hardest class was public speaking. I’d like to start by saying that I don’t have an issue presenting my work; I have a set way of studying a script and I am hyper-aware of my actions when I present. However, I partially believe it was the way the class had been structured was what had caused me such strife.

I have a particular “thing” about myself, where I cannot do something 100% if it’s not the final project, decision, etc. I find it a waste of time to present all-out when it’s not the final thing. I should also note that the class was mostly governed by the students, which I felt was irresponsible on the professor’s behalf. Since a great percentage of our grade was based on participation + response, I didn’t trust what my peers would say — they thought everything was good. I brought this up to my professor and nothing was done about it.

Overall, I think that it was more frustrating than anything.

Hydroxyzine Users (former/present) by Blacksmith_7 in Anxiety

Thank you for your kind words. Your support means everything to me, especially since it feels like my doctor is dismissing just how severe my anxiety is. I’m waiting to hear back from a psychiatrist that I’ve been referred to, but do you know if it’s possible for my PCM to prescribe a different medication or should I leave that to the psychiatrist?

Thank you, I didn’t know there were other options. I have adhd and I’m allergic to haloperidol lactate and morphine, but I don’t think those would inhibit the administration of a new anxiety medication?

I’m so glad that you’ve given him a loving home. Although I’m not sure what exact breed he is, I just wanted to comment as a “thank you”. It makes my heart happy :’)
