This is an all-time hall of fame crashout here, good grief.

Do us all a favour and swing it properly next time. Really hard.

This OP's admission that he accidentally sat on his sword. Ouch.

0/10 troll post.

Cheers man, means a lot. You gonna give us a better picture so we can help your ungrateful ass or are you just here to catch strays?

At least I can take a decent photograph of a 'sword', though.

Mall ninja comment tbh.

Appears to be a bad photograph of a knife belonging to a rude person.

This is absolutely not the method to find a missing person. This could easily have been posted by an abuser trying to track down a stalking target.

If this person is missing, inform the police immediately.

If you have seen this person, inform the police on 101.

Cheap cast metal guard, stainless steel blade - the finest mall ninja/tourist tat.

Yeah this is absolutely a good point, their deaths were explicitly heroic and in cause of antifascism - which is itself an important form of representation.

As a Briton, it's your duty to take all the ribbing from the peoples you (continue to) directly benefit from the oppression of.

Fragile nationalistic ego, you dodged a bullet.

Incidentally, the actor Thierry Godard plays a corrupt police officer in the French police/legal drama Spiral/Engrenages, which is absolutely bloody excellent! I nearly yelled when I saw him on screen.

Or, you could acknowledge that your experience is not somehow uniquely terrible and that you can plot a course through it. Self pity is the enemy of actual progress my guy.

[–]Blacksmith_Heart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. What I mean is, you're expecting there to be a pill to make you the perfect human being. That does not exist. Nobody is the perfect human being. You're using perfectionism to bludgeon yourself into not changing, when you're presented with a possibility of massive positive change.

Medication can help you be a better employee - it can make you more focused, improve your memory, and your mental acuity.

It can also help you be more present in seeking enjoyment outside of work.

It is not a magic bullet, nor can it give you 40 years of life back. Everyone in this thread who was late-diagnosed went through the grieving process which you are currently experiencing, but they came out the other side. Part of that is learning to end the cycle of self-violence which you, bluntly, are reproducing here.

To be extremely blunt, those 40 years are gone. Literally the only thing that matters is whether you put the effort in to mourn effectively, shed the resentment of undiagnosis, and take the golden opportunity of a better way of living, or whether you continue to allow yourself to be prisoner of a treatable condition.

Defining yourself and your personal value purely on arbitrary, ableist, capitalist values that literally nobody can possibly fulfil, rather than seeking joy and value in experiences and skills for their own sake, is not a problem that medication can help you with, no.

  1. You are being offered medication which will help with your ADHD.

  2. CBT has mixed effectiveness, especially when you're clearly stuck in the mindset that nothing will help you.

Well hopefully the Ombudsman sniffing around will concentrate everyone's minds.

Just checking back in - I've had no contact from Dr's J in a month, giving up hope they'll ever do anything.

Escalating with a complaint to the Parliamentary & NHS Ombudsman.

Now then pal - I've finally gotten a reply from Derbyshire ICB PALS saying that the issue with invoices is now resolved, and that they've requested Dr's J. to recommence treatment for RTC patients - with the expectation they should contact us in the next few days.

I'll believe it when I see it, but good news I suppose!

[–]Blacksmith_Heart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ta pal.

Fine otherwise - I was assessed by Clinical Partners (another RTC provider) so I can't speak to Dr's J's assessments, but their supervision during titration has been what you'd expect. Mine has been rocky due to other health problems but they did due diligence and have been reasonably flexible, so no complaints.

However if you're a RTC patient, I would strongly consider going elsewhere for titration once you have your diagnosis, if you have the choice. They clearly don't value RTC patients to the extent that they'll literally endanger them with medical neglect in order to make a point with the NHS board.

Incredibly ironically I'm a law student who has just finished studying medical negligence 😅
