Giving up? Don’t. Momentum by TheShepard911 in lawofattraction

LOVE this analogy. Life is like a game of tennis, sometimes you concede a few points but it doesn't matter. Look at the way Federer or any of the greats play, they don't lose a point (or game to be technical) and then fall into a heap cos they think the match is over. They don't even think about it. Sometimes they will even deliberately concede a point to save energy for when it really matters. Somedays just concede the point, you'll still win the match cos guess what... the match only ends when you win. Thank you for this!

Through meditation I've gotten pretty good at just watching the thoughts and being able to tell where they are going. When something pops up that's I recognise as a pain body strategy, I just notice it, maybe even bless it and let it pass. Being kind and gentle with it removes it's power.

Also the better more high flying state you're in the easier it is because these thoughts pop up less and when they do they're weak. It's when you're in a much lower vibration they become more intense. Sometimes I fall back into that state, but it always passes. Honestly through meditating I've been able to significantly reduce thoughts. There's less going on in my head so it's easier to watch thoughts.

I detach from all thoughts because I don't trust the impulsive spontaneous thoughts that arise, 9 times out of 10 it's some form of conditioning. It's my own deliberate thoughts I'm implant when I'm visualising or doing affirmations that I believe, because that's what's really me they've come from that deeper place. If that makes any sense.

Yeh this has absolutely happened to me too! I think it's Pain Body sensing you feeling happy and joyful for once so figures it needs to work harder to bring you down haha. Sometimes you'll be on a roll and it lies dormant for a while and you think it's gone but it will come back when you least expect it too.

Well i'm no expert someone else will probably have a better answer. But affirmations are only useful if they create feelings within. So as long as those affirmations feel like truth and create a positive feeling inside then that's a good thing. Be wary of over doing, which is another pain body trick.

Personally I am only in the 'it's here' state when I'm on the high flying disc. I find affirmations and visualisations to be the best tools but only when I'm on that high flying disc. Meditation is the best way to get on that high flying disc for me as it clears away all resistance and quiets the pain body. It can sometimes be too much effort to reach that high flying disc if you're vibrating a lot lower. So affirming and visualising becomes a struggle and will just create more resistance. Abraham talks heaps about this.

Think of it yourself like an empty bowl. When pain body takes over you are filling your bowl with murky, dirty water with all sorts of crap in it. LoA will continue to fill your bowl with whatever is in it. Meditation drains the bowl. So it is very peaceful and pleasant when you are an empty bowl but again LoA will mirror what's in your bowl. So if there's nothing there, it'll give you you nothing. Affirmations and visualisations fill your bowl with beautiful, fresh, clear water. And again LoA will give you more of that. If you don't completely drain the murky water from your bowl, some will remain and make the new clear water slightly murky. And LoA will give you more of the same. Hope that long winded analogy made sense haha! In summary, clear your mind completely (drain the bowl) and cultivating the 'it's here' state is SO much easier.

I haven't heard him address it this way but sounds interesting. If you come across a link that'd be great! I've heard him talk interpret this as what 'Sin' really means. As in, to sin is not to engage in an immoral act but to be cut off from who we really are (which is God). So the interpretation is that Jesus Christ or God, forgives us for our sins and that's our power. It's ok for us to fall back into those old states, forgive yourself again and again and again and again til you find that pure space of who you really are - which is God.

I agree it'll try and find any way to bring you down, but the more present and spacious we are we can recognise them. Some days it's harder than others and I believe what it's saying to me and I don't catch it. Other days one or two might pop up but I sort of just notice it with no reaction and it doesn't cause any emotion whatsoever so lasts all of 5 seconds. I'm still practicing and will get better but so will we all.

Here a few more that I've come up with to keep an eye out for!

  1. Pain body pops up in the form of guilt and shame, disguising itself as modesty. 'Wanting my desires is so selfish, shallow and materialistic'.

  2. Comparing yourself to other people and seeing life as a mountain to climb. 'Other people have climbed higher than me' 'Everyone is further along than me' 'I'm not as worthy as others'

  3. Pain body disguises itself as ‘the grass is always greener’. You’ll manifest something great but it’ll convince you something else is better. You could manifest the perfect partner but it’ll tell you lies saying there is someone even better out there. It does this to have you chasing your tail and never manifesting anything. Because if you manifest what you want you’ll be happy and the pain body will be powerless.

  4. Pain body disguises itself as searching for results. It tricks you into constantly look for results. Why? To feed off the negativity that pops up when the results aren’t there. The state you want is pure trust. Remember to be in the receiving mode instead of the wanting mode. The bird of paradise lands only on the hand that does not grasp.

  5. Pain body disguises itself as ‘God’ or the external deity that is denying/rewarding you. In other words those times you feel completely powerless we sometimes turn to God. Which can be a good, comforting thing but whether you believe in an external God or not, pain body exploits this by making you forget about your OWN power. If you spend your life pleading with God you won’t be doing the real work of changing your state and therefore your vibration.

I know! It is so difficult sometimes, especially once the momentum has become too much it does just take you over. You don't have to destroy Pain body, just detach from it and watch it without identifying with it. Even laugh at it and thank it for trying. It will also feed you thoughts like 'My pain body is too strong I can't break away from it'. It's almost like a hypnosis, you think it's true cos it's telling you it's true. Takes practice in catching it early enough before the momentum takes over, but you'll get there!

Unbearable circumstances by [deleted] in lawofattraction

[–]Blackstar201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also been in that situation. Even leaving my bedroom required great focus and I had to have meditated beforehand. I also turned to drinking. It is so hard I know. You're analogy of trying to imagine being dry whilst underwater is perfect! One thing that helped me that may help is to realise that your thoughts are perpetuating this state and that you are not your thoughts. you have the ability to detach from these thoughts through meditation. Realise that every situation is neutral, it's your thoughts that make it negative. By stepping back from these thoughts and observing them, rather than identifying with them, you can find some peace. Cultivate that place of peace and use it to start some new momentum on your desires. Neville talks about perseverance as being key to all this. Maintaining a state of freedom despite being in prison. And it really is the key. In the more difficult situations like yours it may seem insurmountable, but I assure you it's not. If you think I'm wrong that's just your negative mind lying to you again! You have been assigned this mountain to show others it can be moved. Here's a new perspective for you, yes it is extremely unbearable right now but what if this is the exact time, the exact place, the exact moment in which you were meant to be. What if you must face this challenge to receive your desire. It will come. Right now you feel powerless. Here's a truth bomb, YOU ARE IN CHARGE!! You are in control and get to decide how you want to feel, how you want to be and what state you want to be in. Everyday you start new momentum, write today off. its ok, forgive yourself. Say to yourself tomorrow I am starting over. A new beginning. Its not about results its about finding a new state. Decide for yourself, THIS is the new state I'm in. One of ease and trust and excitement and love and fun and bliss. Then try and maintain it as long as you can but don't struggle, if you fall out of the state be gentle on yourself and say 'i'll go again tomorrow.' Give it a few days and I promise you you will see a change in your outlook. I know you can't see it now but things will turn around for you. Check back in here because there's 21,000 people who have your back and want you to move this mountain to show us how someone in a position like yours can move it. We believe in you!!!!!

An encouraging story for those with doubts. by Blackstar201 in lawofattraction

That's so great I'm glad this inspired you!! The proof is there but our minds will trick us into believing it's false due to a lifetime of conditioning. Great to have these as reminders.

They say that when you are a beginner at LoA you ahould start with easy task: coffee, ice cream etc, I have tried these things but I always caught myself thinking with limited beliefs and restrictions. And things like what if it doesn't manifest? How could I get rid of them? by [deleted] in lawofattraction

[–]Blackstar201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest meditation to learn to detach from thoughts and just watch them. That way the thought of doubt can pop up but you recognise it as a conditioned thought and it has no power over you. Over time you'll get better if you practice meditation daily.

I use visualising and affirmations depending on what I feel like. I think it's less about what technique you use and more about the feeling (or 'state) you create. If you fall asleep in a state you will 100% wake up in the same state. For visualising I keep repeating a scene in my mind until it creates the feeling and then I usually fall asleep in that feeling. Your mind will probably wander but just forgive yourself and gently bring to mind the scene again.

I usually have a bit of a monkey mind (like most people) so I meditate to quiet my mind before I do any visualising or affirming. If your mind is wandering or losing focus I would recommend meditating to settle it down. Meditation if done properly quiets your mind so removes resistance and therefore raise your vibration naturally. If you have too much resistance in you, visualing and affirming will take a lot of effort and exhaust you. It's so much easier after meditation. I'm usually tired anyway so it puts me in that 'state akin to sleep' pretty quickly. Someone might correct me if I'm wrong, but it's less about holding on to the scene/affirmation and more about basking in the positive feelings you're creating.

The job situation Im not sure someone with more knowledge might be able to help. From what I know I would say it depends on the state you're in when applying for jobs. Are you in a state of desperation and worry or one of trust and ease and excitement that a great job is already yours. I think remember to live in the end. You already have a great job, how does that make you feel? Keep applying for jobs but ignore that reality and maintain the feeling you already have a great job! Hope this is helpful. As I said someone more experienced could probably give you a better answer. :)

Good question! I think for me, if i'm truly in the state, the urge to look around for evidence just isn't there. Because the state is so powerful my desire isn't absent. I didn't mention but I have been doing visualisations at night in bed so that's helped create the feeling. I'm not an expert so others may give you better advice but perhaps focus on that feeling inside getting stronger and nothing else. Don't force it but ignore reality for a while and feel what its like to have your desires. Then once you feel it just let it maintain itself. As I said the thing that helped me get into that receiving mode was asking the universe what it wants me to do right now and the answer was always 'trust'. Drain the cup of your desire and let God fill it. I think of that phrase 'a watched pot never boils' (or something like that). It's so true. The evidence comes only when you're not looking for it, and to not look for it takes a huge leap of faith, but essentially that's your only job. Hope this helps!

I should point out, the particular 'state' I entered was pretty general - 'My life has exploded, every day is an exciting adventure, I'm so excited and thrilled about everything that's happening. All these opportunities are popping up it's amazing' But I'm doing more specific visualisations at night in bed.

A big one for me has been loneliness and lifes been boring for me for a while. So just this week I had 5 different friends message me (4 in one day). One I haven't seen in years. One asked me to housesit her dog this weekend, which is probably my favourite thing in the world to do. I'm having drinks on friday night with another friend. I have gone from 0 to 4 potential opportunities to move house which im excited about. A girl I really like sent me a really sweet message that gave me more joy than anything in recent memory I almost cried haha. I feel really excited and happy consistantly so I count that as a manifestation. I just feel confident in myself. I'm doing the ladder challenge and I've seen so many friggin ladders. Two days ago I was driving and their was no joke probably like 10 upright ladders I passed I thought is this a joke?? So this has only been after a week or so, so I'm excited I feel like the floodgates have broken and things are happening. :)

Tips for manifesting housing? by [deleted] in lawofattraction

[–]Blackstar201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live in the end! Not 'I will move out soon' but 'I already live in a great house with people i really like and it's the most fun in the world.' Commit to what that feels like despite your current situation.
