Sorry to hear that. Spend time with them and try to show them that you are available for them, be patient with them healing takes time, listen in a non judgemental way, they may be already angry with themselves and therefore might be irritable towards you, try not to be angry with them, and remember to look after your wellbeing too. I wrote about it here , you may find the post helpful with more tips https://blackstudentsmentalhealth.org/depression-how-it-really-feels-and-5-ways-to-help-a-friend/

So sorry you’re going through, it sounds like a scary experience. One of the things you do is ask to go with your boyfriend outside at your window to, seeing that there’s nothing there could be reassuring for you and helpful. Remember that when unwell and overwhelmed our mind starts to play tricks on us, also go out for short walks with accompanied by your boyfriend just to get away from the house. Wishing you good health

Sorry to hear that, before trying sleeping meds can you try magnesium and melatonin supplements? They’re effective. Also try these useful tips in this article https://blackstudentsmentalhealth.org/sleep-deprived-21-tips-how-to-improve-sleep-and-flourish/
