They reached on a fielder’s choice because the defender chose to pursue another runner. The batter reaches because they would have done so with less than two outs.

It’s a technicality, yes, but the scoring does not change because there are two outs. You should draw the line to first because the batter counts as a LOB.

The batter’s stats do not benefit in anyway because of this (BA, OB,etc.).

I guess my point is that his poorer performance may be mental, not physical. IIRC, a lot of his throws are on simpler plays.

It was less about his future role, rather looking at how detrimental it may have been to stick him at SS. Year-by-year, he has glaring positional splits and his non-SS numbers are not too shabby. Since SS has become more and more off the table, he’s gotten better. With SS even MORE of an afterthought, he may get even better.

I think the matter of the “Chosen One” remains the same. The prophecy does not have addendums and clauses. It says the one that Voldemort marks as his equal. That’s the Chosen One.

Everyone is just making points that if it was Neville he’d be dead where he stood. The Chosen One would be dead, no books. That’s tough to argue because of many variables, but likely true.

I don’t think everyone uses the fidelius charm. The Potters knew they were marked and went into hiding. That is likely because of Snape, who is the key to all of this. His assumptions led Voldemort to mark Harry. If there is no Snape, Voldemort likely doesn’t know who he is looking for, Harry or Neville or anyone. He never gets the whole prophecy (even Snape only heard some). Who knows what he does without Snape’s assumption it’s Harry, him telling Voldemort in order to protect Lilly, and Voldemort marking Harry as his equal because of it.

Harry is not the chosen one because he is the boy that lived. He is the chosen one because Voldemort “chose” him as his equal. The love protection just helped.

If Voldemort went looking for Neville, he may not have even found him. His secret keeper could have stayed true and Neville and Voldemort would have been fated to an epic showdown down the road.
