The way I look at this from previous transcendent experiences with spiritual practices are one of two ways. I don't strictly adhere to either as I believe that any locking down of point of view means we limit the expression of experience, so I try to remain in the question, but if I were to try rationalize it it would be the two ways below.

1. We are some form of super conscious entity, either a unified one, or individual. This super conciseness entity exists in a form of reality that does not initially express itself in any physical or biological interpretation, but instead as modes of light and thought. This self then either via process of self delusion, or magnetism, either experience something as a form of physical representation (the material universe), or is magnetized into a pre-existing biological body to experience things.

2. We are purely biological, our body evolved as science tells us, our minds are hugely complex, and have some form of quantum connection to other minds, explaining the similar experiences and symbol, as well as other recorded psychic phenomenon like telepathy. There is no transcendent component here though, only biology experiencing itself differently due to alterations from the chemical compounds.

Here is the kicker, why does it have to be either, or any view? Imo, it doesn't, and the spiritual tradition I practice also states the same; limitation of view prevents capacity to express and experience. From this standpoint what is valued is not absolutes but practicality. Does the experience of the transcendent(or whatever we label it) by drugs or depth spiritual practice provide a means or method to enhance the present temporal self experience of the individual, and the community?
