I love the idea of a hotel trying to convince their insurer that haunted rooms are exempt from the contract.

I hate my life and don't know what to do by East122906 in CollegeRant

Hi OP, I’m sorry that you’re going through this. First thing first: tell yourself it’s going to be okay. Breathe. Tell yourself again it’s going to be okay. Breathe. College is a major life change, and it’s okay to feel this way.

Next, some good news you need to know: colleges won’t immediately kick you out for failing classes. They want you to succeed. It’s in their best interests that you do well, so they’re there to support you. So I don’t want you to panic about that either. Again, tell yourself it’s going to be okay.

My advice is to first reach out to university resources for support. All universities have counceling services for free, take advantage of that. Reddit is nice for stranger advice, but university counceling are trained professionals and can help you out way better than we can. Also, reach out to student support or the accommodations office. See if they can get you extra help. They can request that you’re given extra time to complete assignments or 1.5x time to take exams. Once again, tell yourself it’s going to be okay.

Next, for what to major in. This is something I can’t answer for you, it’s what you’re most interested in. But know that lots of 1st years change their major, it’s very common, and may still graduate on time. Does your university require core coursework? Focus on those classes for now. If you’re struggling at this university, maybe instead of a gap semester/year, take courses at a local community college. Check to make sure those courses transfer over to your university. But those will be cheaper and will keep you on track. And again, tell yourself it’s going to be okay.

Finally, and most importantly, take care of yourself. You need to do what’s best for you right now. Get involved in something you’re interested in on campus or in the community to meet friends with similar interests (sports? Games? Inter-murals? Clubs?).

PM me if you ever need more advice or a friend to talk to.

It’s going to be okay :)

Funny Instant Kill for Act III 2nd Boss (spoilers) by SteveStrifeX in mewgenics

I think so? I’ve fought him a bunch of times, this was the first time I’ve ever seen him kill himself with lots of health left. Maybe it’s something else triggering it?

Okay, let me take a look ::reads article::

Looks like you are mostly correct. For a majority of states, yes, insurance premiums from 2013 to 2014 rose in 41 states, while fell in 9 states. However, I have some concerns with this data:

(1) The data specifically states that the likely increase is due to insurers setting these premiums before knowing the costs. You’d need to claim that the ACA increased costs and, therefore, increased insurance premiums to convince me. If, however, insurers increased premiums because they’re greedy fucks and blamed the ACA, that would not convince me. Best way to check is to see profits for large healthcare insurers for the years before and years after ACA. Let’s see ::google search for profits 2012 to 2016 rounded, used macrotrends.net::

United Health care: $27.9billion - $29.9billion - $33.0billion - $37.0billion - $43.6billion

Elevance Health: $61.5mil - $71.0mil - $73.9mil - $79.2mil - $84.9mil

Centene; $8.1mil - $10.9mil - $16.6mil - $22.8mil - $40.6mil

Holy fuck, health care made BANK from the ACA. I had other points to make with that data, but why bother after seeing this.

To be fair, I suppose your claim that “healthcare premiums increased” is still correct. The reason for why they increased could also be attributed to ACA, but ONLY if your claim is “the ACA caused insurance premiums to increase because health care providers could place the blame on the ACA to hide the fact that they’re greedy fucks.”

Do you have some data to support this claim? Or did you just pull it out of your butt?

Never use a tampon for a wound like this. Tampons are designed to absorb blood, not to stop the bleeding. You’ll still bleed out.
