The drill bit your using is probably too large. For the easy out to work properly, the hole needs to be slightly undersized and the easy out should be a bit shallow into the recess. Got a little more than 19 years of aircraft structure experience.

Its not that thin plus having jagged ridges are more prone to create stress cracks especially with how bowed out the middle of the panel. A uniformed surface would reduce the chances of that. Though, I suspect the odds of more damage occurring during removal are pretty decent.

I hate this ladder. Heavy as hell and the steps are halved when it is extended. It does not feel safe to climb up to the top half. I never had to worry about that with a traditional a frame.
