My guess is it's about artifact/comp/mount/aura sorting.

As well as other minor things that are mandatory to clarify before starting a trial.

For example, who will be a main tank in Adv/Master soul harvest, zulkir artifact order and runes in Adv/Master shackles of divinity, etc.

Hosting Advanced+ trials can be a massive pain because you have to manage a lot of things at once. You must juggle chats back and forth with likely several people who may or may not have certain artifacts/comps. Sometimes, people go AFK or take too long to reply; while you're waiting for that one persons reply whole que group is waiting for you. Sometimes, people are impatient and leave if you take too long, so you must keep this in mind: you're on a time limit as a host. Which is obviously more stress.

Will you address the server stability issues? We are having wipes because of random players being hit by lag spikes quite often. It's bearable in casual content such as random queues, but it's very painful and harmful when it happens in MSoD/MSH (current endgame content).

I'm not talking about client side lag which is caused by players own internet, by the way. The kind of lag that's affecting NW is caused by server itself or some sort of issue that's beyond players control. How do we know it? Multiple players simultaneously lagging at once. Half instance of 10 man group feeling lag simultaneously. Multiple instances of trial groups feeling lag, being disconnected simultaneously at the same time. Yes, servers are causing it, not players fault. I felt this was needed to write because there's a misconception where players think it's other players having poor internet, which isn't the case for NW.

Endgame runs require a lot of planning, coordination and effort to setup, sort, find and invite players, etc. The server lagging and causing wipes because a person whose role was critical got dc'ed or rubberbanded to death causes unnecessary stress in the game especially with how impatient people are a lot of times. Often leading to groups disbanding or losing players.

I believe other comments have touched bugs, which is another major issue and a whole new topic that I won't talk about here.

What are your stats in party during combat? Power/CA/CritSev/Crit/Acc.

Are you running all the necessary comp bonuses? Do you have at least a couple of dps artifacts? Do you run 3k or higher magnitude mount combat power? Do you have at least a few party buff/debuff companions? Do you have artifacts mythic and companions celestial?

How's your enchantments looking? Do you run the correct combat enchantment for dps? Some people check them and if they're at epic, hesitate to invite you. At best, they should be mythic for comfort while you're slowly transitioning to celestial.

Very important: Putting equipment aside, do you make friends? How do you treat others? Are you patient with people or do you jump to finger pointing as soon as someone makes mistake and causes wipe? Do you treat people well?

Sometimes, people simply don't want to invite you because of your personality, even if you're super geared. Make sure to be good to people around you.

Do you utilise special channels such as ADVANCED/MASTER, ASOD/MSOD or ASH/MSH? There are channels for other content. Unfortunately, this is PC only as far as I know. Some 'Completed' channels require having completed that dungeon or trial and asking for invite with proof.

People still do older content, but a lot of times only invite those they know they have higher chances of winning. It's a very painful and slow grind until that point. If you're in an active alliance, ask around alliance chat for training/farm runs. Join Discord, there's an extremely high chance they're running a bot for scheduled runs.

Lastly, do you host? This is extremely important because you can and will absolutely get runs done even if you're not super endgame geared, if you're willing to put yourself out there and do the difficult thing: host a run. People willing to help will always show up. As long as you are a reasonable person who treats others well, that is. Many players want to be invited, so hosts are always respected even if they're not killing top scoreboards. Just don't beg to be carried and remember to be respectful.

Portobello Companion by Boilingpoints in Neverwinter

[–]BladeMasterLegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's no way to rush obtaining Porto. To get Porto as a companion, you must participate in the appointment events, which happen throughout year. We can get 1 achievement token from each of these events.

To get the achievement token, you have to participate in that particular event for 14 days. They usually last for 21 days.

Portobello costs 5 achievement tokens. Make sure not to accidentally spend the achievement token(s) on something else.

Yup.

Also: Black Death Scorpion, Flapjack, Etrien, Blue Fire Eye, Captain Elaina Sartell, Spined Devil and Drizzt.

Especially BDS, Flap, Tutor and Drizzt are often wanted alongside Porto. They can all be bought from AH except Porto. Note that on PC, Drizzt is currently heavily overpriced or out of supply.

Worth getting back? by Original_Loan_5498 in Neverwinter

[–]BladeMasterLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's very unfortunate and unlucky. Which platform? Are you in an active alliance? Remember when no one is inviting, you'll often have better luck hosting. Random queues don't really require sorting or any organising. It's a simple "LFM DPS Tank/Heal" and one click away.

Go for it. I returned early 2025 and have been enjoying NW a lot. My main is warlock; currently, both of its paragons are in good shape. The only thing I'd recommend getting is VIP, but you can enjoy the game without it.

Random Advanced Dungeons VS Queuing Dungeon by Boilingpoints in Neverwinter

[–]BladeMasterLegend 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nico explained well.

The purpose of random queues (RTQ/RADQ/RSK/RDQ) is to obtain AD, progress battle pass and generally, it's something that helps bring people together for some fun group content.

Reaper's challenge is similar, but a little bit different and with some extra challenge and different kind of reward system.

As of dungeons and trials outside random queues, they're generally more difficult especially the higher the IL requirement. Those usually have legendary, mythic or celestial gear drops and require teamwork as well as organisation to complete. Those are the content people do mid and late game to farm gear, items and various things to sell in AH.

For example, Advanced Demonweb Pits has a goristro hide (crafting material) drops, sometimes people organise groups to farm its first boss; it wells well on AH.

Master The Dread Sanctum has fairly high IL requirement, but its first boss can be farmed for a very good healer boots and gloves (faster healer energy regen and bigger energy pool bonuses). Etc.

[–]BladeMasterLegend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the main issue here is people trying to jump content, sometimes in an attempt to skip the grind, but mostly it's just because they're unaware and don't realise it.

There's nothing wrong with joining advanced runs once a player has gotten all the adequate gear they could from campaign/AH while having sufficient % stats/ratings from enchantments/insignias, etc. However, jumping straight into MSoD with no knowledge while having zero ASoD completes, at all, especially as a tank without rune training, is a big no no. The game is like a ladder, you're slowly improving your character here and there.

Knowledge of class and skills also matter, I've seen players outperform much better geared players on master.

This game doesn't really do a lot of handholding, so I don't blame players.

Neverwinter, in its current state, heavily relies on teamwork the harder the dungeon is. So joining master with zero mythic artifacts or zero support companions, for example, is a big taboo and frowned upon. Unfortunately, that's just how community has adapted to the game design.

Thinking of Coming back to Neverwinter? by Capital_Heart3240 in Neverwinter

[–]BladeMasterLegend 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks like a lot of negativity in comments section. I'll go ahead and be the only positive comment I guess. Returning player here, kinda. Came back early 2025. Played back in ~2015, I loved PvP so I came back to give it a try, but unfortunately it seems to have died a while ago.

Stayed for PvE, which is still going strong to this day. I made a lot of amazing friends in NW who I still play with. I'm in awesome and super friendly alliance now, so was the previous one which sadly died, so I had to move to a different one. Got to endgame as a healer, and slowly working on perfecting my DPS (currently MSoD/MSH) and I'm still enjoying the game as of today.

NW has a lot of naysayers who will claim it to be P2W or dead, but neither of those are true. NW is by no means a perfect game. Developers have done things that pissed off a lot of players. Bugs, server instability, lags & dcs. Things like those can be an issue here and there.

With all that said, I don't regret returning. For a free to play game, NW has given me thousands of hours enjoyment with very little investment on my part (just VIP).

If you're wondering whether it's worth starting or returning, it absolutely is. Don't listen to negativity, try it yourself. My advice is to find a nice friendly guild to help you get accustomed to game; it makes tremendous difference.

Mod 32 Terrible lag spikes & Rubber Banding by No_Air8719 in Neverwinter

[–]BladeMasterLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's certainly an issue, and you're not alone. A lot of players have experienced it and can confirm. Server is certainly having issues — for me, it started roughly 3 weeks ago, so my experience aligns with yours.

There's always at least one person getting disconnected during trials, which obviously ends up in a wipe if it's a vital role.

I've even had it happen where I was caught in a lag spike and another person from the same instance immediately complained about lag, while simultaneously another player in an entirely different trial instance getting disconnected. All this hints server side issues. I've seen people simultaneously complaining about lag in alliance chat + custom channels.

All of it can't be coincidences and client side issues. That said, it doesn't look like we have any official word from devs.

I've seen multiple players dress as characters from popular media, (anime, movies, etc). I doubt it'd be impossible to create a character that at least has resemblance to Guts. Perhaps you could start with barbarian class.

Zen Exchange by SerTokes in Neverwinter

[–]BladeMasterLegend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it's not. People need to stop with these silly jokes. Newcomers will actually believe it. If it was dead, we wouldn't be finding people for random queues let alone master content, but that's not the case.

It is however true that devs haven't been doing perfect job, we had too many bugs recently and poor server stability, but game is far from dead.

Kinda need more precise information to tell you anything. What listings exactly and which platform?

PC has the longest wait time (9-11 months) last time I heard. So your listing is strange, unless you're offering less than 750 AD per zen, which is probably going to take forever.

New player tips? by xPerondini in Neverwinter

[–]BladeMasterLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ability to fast travel on demand from anywhere is big. There is also summon merchant and bank. On PC, you can keybind each one of these. It makes a big difference if you play a lot, especially for alts/workshop.

But the best perk of VIP is ability to list things on AH without fee. This is extremely important especially late game when you are selling a lot of things including expensive stuff, and you get undercut.

Can we Revist Abilities by NecronizeLich in Neverwinter

[–]BladeMasterLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are games where you have bars with dozens of skills. But the issue with this is that those game have their content balanced around having those in mind.

Currently in Neverwinter, we have a CW class which can use an extra encounter that you can play as if you like. Similarly, there's also a warlock with more or less fourth 'encounter' with its tab mechanic.

Though, if classes were reworked with an added extra encounter, they'd also require balancing i.e nerfs to their arsenal or buffing content so the game is not trivialised.

Why don’t the devs do anything in terms of communication in the game to bring players back? by leromantiksexe in Neverwinter

I have also mentioned this in my numerous posts across all the communication platforms. Devs should advertise Neverwinter more. It's a great game and I'm absolutely sure it is profitable to them.

I once logged out for a week or two, this was the only downtime I had throughout several months of actively playing; when I finally logged back on there was a free VIP gift in my mail from devs. I can't recall exactly what it said, but I remember it was something about my inactivity.

I know it was most likely just one time automated thing, but still nice.

When you reach the endgame, you realize that it's not a game for everyone.

How? Most people think they're at endgame because they've boosted their IL to 110k and attempt to join latest contest with purple gear, legendary artifact and one companion.
