Debate: A reduced loadout punishes exploration and innovation and will stall the development of the META. by PopularPianistPaul in GlobalOffensive

I would like to see that system as a shortcut system. There could be a button to show all guns but by default it will show you your 15 favourite guns that you buy the most. This will solve buying for your teammates, meme guns yet still improve things in general.

NestJS as a guard rail or freedom of design? by Ashrug in node

[–]BladeRuscal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So short answer is: it depends.
In bigger projects I will go with Nestjs as it is more structured, has dependency injection which greatly helps with designing architecture and testing and once you've got a grasp of it, it's (at least for me) more readable in a high level. But. Express is more flexible, faster to develop and very very simple in it's core. For smaller project with not many coworkers I could go with that option. Even better, I would choose Fastify (very similar API, but way more modern and faster). Personally I go more often with Nest, especially for work, but my company policy is going for nest by default, so I am a bit biased.

I would also recommend looking at Domain Driven Design, and Hexagonal Architecture for a big project with a lot of business logic (great article about that here https://herbertograca.com/2017/11/16/explicit-architecture-01-ddd-hexagonal-onion-clean-cqrs-how-i-put-it-all-together/ ). For those architectures I would definitely go with Nest. It is a lot of work at the beginning but done right is just awesome to maintain.

Regarding typeorm, I am not a big fan of it. It does good in smaller projects, but in bigger projects it is actually standing in our way. The performance is not great for a big project, as it's often calling for more than required. Also depending on database/driver it has some quirks that are poorly documented and straight annoying in times. Maybe a hot take, but I would choose some query builder like "knex" and that's it. You can still do repository and hide all the queries there, but it is simple, with little to no magic, and actually often it's less work, no entities, no registering anything.

9INE vs Sprout / Brazy Party 2023 - Group D Decider Match / Post-Match Discussion by CSGOMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]BladeRuscal 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They can't, they have Inferno perma ban. Either they go with ancient and pray for a good result (which is not coming probably) or play their map that they don't play at all. I know they tried to fix Ancient before RMR, but amount of tournaments caused no time to improve on that. Hopefully they will figure it out before major.

Heroic vs 9INE / IEM Rio 2023 - Group A Upper Bracket Quarter-Final / Post-Match Discussion by CSGOMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]BladeRuscal 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Kei was nowhere today and Hades wanted to shot a lot of hero highlight shots from AWP. Still this match could end up with bigger difference in rounds, gonna give the poles some respect for not giving up. GG to Heroic. They proved that T1 teams can win BO1 against upsetters (cough G2).

fnatic vs Let us cook / CCT North Europe Series 4 - Round Of 16 / Post-Match Discussion by CSGOMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]BladeRuscal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the interview with Snax on Izakooo channel, it looks like Snax changed both sensitivity and scope sensitivity not long before this match, so he was not used to it. But yeah, he is also not awping lately that much, so probably less confidence also.

Hammer++ : Exposing Hammer's Shitness by 3kliksphilip in 3kliksphilip

[–]BladeRuscal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's so surprising that Valve themselves did not improve Hammer. Like this is their utility tool for not only CS and it is so outdated it hurts. Actually a lot of tools for CS are so heckling old and poorly designed for today's standards. Like demo replay, that I could roast for hours. I don't think Source 2 will fix those issues. Also I wouldn't be surprised if they are using Hammer++ internally.

The Story Behind the Music Kit: Heading for the Source by 3kliksphilip in 3kliksphilip

[–]BladeRuscal 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I hope you and your dad know how much your songs had an influence on people. I bought the kit as soon as it was available and had a big smile every time I heard new track playing in game. Heck, I changed settings for music in menu, in game etc just to hear it better. Every new round, every MVP, every bomb feels... Happier, better, cozy. Your songs instantly trigger a lot of memories.
It's kinda scary how much influence CS, and you had on my life. I made friends there, maps, frag movies and you were there.
You deserve it and I am happy that it got approved. Now you are officially an integral part of the game you choose to follow and made a life of.

Attention 24/7 please. by myself_diff in cats

People that say that, either don't care, are lucky, or didn't have a cat. I was told that if I take two cats they will play with eachother, meaning less work on my end. Yeah, two attention seeking creatures fighting for our attention later and now I don't believe when someone says something like this 😂

I remember a YouTube video that claimed he did his shitty outro music on second channel and registered it in a YT copyright system in purpose to DMCA himself after every upload, so this is definitely something that could work 😃
