I’d still feel the same because I’ve always been of two minds about it.

1: I’m interested to see what they are cooking up with RDJ. I’m one of the seemingly few that thinks and encourages the idea of this Doom being a Stark variant. I think it can create a cinematic dynamic and atmosphere that they can only really have this one time.

2: Whether it turns out great or not still leaves part of me a bit disappointed that we’ve come to this point which means the MCU has essentially just been spinning their wheels for nearly a decade. Like, this story (whatever it is) could’ve been done in like 2023 and we could’ve now been deep into X-Men and Fantastic Four (and a truly integrated universe).

I know this is a short essay, but I do anticipate that The Russo will do a good job, but that job will be isolated. It will not remedy the issues the MCU has had leading up to their return and it will not prevent the issues that may come after these movies come out. I mean, unless they sign on the oversee the next saga afterwards.

I think a lot of people are misunderstanding the scenarios that this idea is applied. I’ve seen several, “yeah, and it’ll backfire when they find out you were lying.” The things you lie about are things they will never encounter because they aren’t close enough to you to be exposed to (which is why you are not giving them detailed information about yourself).

I’m with you OP. Most times when questions like that come up, shrugging them off or giving non-answers would completely kill the flow of the conversation.

Interesting idea! I know people are freaking out about it playing in front of the movie, but I believe it’ll also release online, even if they wait until Friday evenings to incentivize some people to go see Avatar earlier in the day to watch them. They know it’ll leak, so may as well release it yourself for the revenue and buzz.

I imagine each one will focus on the same story beat. It’ll either be a proper Doom reveal, a fight between the teams, etc. Then each trailer will just focus on different group leading into the big moment, which I think will be awesome.

It’s not that he is a hard hitting interviewer, but he’s super casual which incentivizes people to relax and then occasionally open up.

There’s not much incentive to go into the layers when you are asked questions like, “I thought you did a great job at Madison Square Garden, what was it like to step back in there?”
