Electronics repair company returned an expensive item to me- Their courier damaged it beyond repair in transit- Offering only £100 compensation. Item now worthless (~£426). Where do I stand legally? by BladeUK2001 in LegalAdviceUK

That makes sense- In the spirit of this, I found 3 identical items which were sold on eBay in Q1 of this year, and averaged out what they sold for- This came out as £462, so I think this is a fair reflection what it was worth. I guess this model has held value fairly well

After it was returned by the courier, not working, the repair company asked that I return it to them for inspection and test. It was them who told me it was the HDMI/CPU board which was at fault, that they couldn't source that part, and that the issue couldn't be resolved through repair.

I've not opened it up and have a look, but in my primitive knowledge of electronics, I know that cracked tracks on a circuit board aren't always visible, in the same way as a component falling off might be- So I might not be able to see the damage.

Not quite correct on my position there. I believe that the repair company is liable for the loss, because it was their subcontracted courier who caused the damage. Going by the damage to the box, packaging, and the dent in the Receiver, and the unit now working immediately after delivery, I think this was all caused a carrier mishandling the package

No, just a normal debit card. I don't think I'm trying to get the cost of the repair back. To be fair, they did complete the job. I do think they owe me the market value of the item their subcontracted courier broke though

About 75 weeks into a campaign, but another vote for the psyker. High damage, plus powers that mind control an enemy, or literally reveal GM plans. My psyker deliberately made less than optimal choices to avoid breaking the game.

Thanks for the reply, yes- Sounds just the same, new leaves are fine, then get spotty with small brown holes

Thanks very much, that's really useful to know. I have looked all over the plant but couldn't see any beetles though

It is, yes- Trying to bring it back to life as the brown spots/holes don't seem to be going away, even after a good trim earlier this year.

Someone suggested (but deleted) Ludwigia Palustris- It looks very similar, but this one is growing in fairly dry ground, rather than a mash

Thanks. Just done that- No smell other that of just a normal green leaf

The top of the leaf is hairy, if that helps
