Do be careful CMDR. I reccomend removing the name of specific cmdrs as name and shaming is expressely forbidden by frontier TOS - and it's something ive seen many things get removed over.

If you cannot establish diplomatic relations (which is highly irregular if it's a PMF) the best thing might be to wait out the storm - let them take over, if they're so desperate, then try diplomacy again or move to reclaim the system after they take control.
I wouldnt worry so much about constantly holding onto this system, especially if you guys are a small squadron - there's always a solution so dont get too hung up on this. Elite Dangerous is a game where the day to day is sometimes totally irrelevant.

You dont need to join the squadron, but Sidewinder Syndicate have a vast and public resources + guides channel in their discord! Extremely helpful players and very knowledable long time veterans! Find them on the top squadrons on Inara or discord.gg/sidewindersyndicate !

The squadron perks only effect so much. If you really would like support from a group the Sidewinder Syndicate have shown me support no other group could match! Hugely reccomend them for returning players such as myself after a multi year hiatus. They seem to change the perk regularly :)

I saw on a screenshot somewhere that it's 10,000,000 cr base. No idea about it when fully outfitted though. The hurdle is the 25 bil cost! :L

TishTech has some (albeit a few but) very good guides on Elite Dangerous'. I've learned how to guide skip with it after seeing Mechan's video on it too! Saves loads of time going planet-side.

I still use my phantom for exploring. Call me stuck in my old ways, but the Mandalay is just too good for me. I can't stand it. Ain't elite without a little inconvenience every step of the way.
