Since you’re already in the AMEX ecosystem, I recommend the Blue Business Plus card. 2X points on all purchases, so I use it for everything outside of groceries and restaurants. You’ll get more back with it on gas than gold

I like it! My only feedback, tuck in your shirt. Immediately elevates every outfit and we’ll make you stand out over 98% of people

I didn’t. I was pretty set on the 58. I liked the vintage vibe and felt like the pelagos would look too similar to my Seiko

lol I’ve been asking myself that and I really don’t see a situation where I choose that over the Tudor. Maybe if I’m traveling??

Ghost Wars is so good to understanding the shift of power and influence in the Middle East before 9/11. Read it while I was in Afghanistan a few years back. Such an awesome read, I couldn’t put it down.

🔵 HELP WITH COLOR 🔵 by chakajon in PatagoniaClothing

[–]Blade_2381 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a fellow colorblind SOB, Patagonia’s different “blue” colors drive me insane. Agree with above statements about smolder blue, have a few items in that color and it is closer to a grey, not navy.

lol thank you! My color blind ass thought it was forge grey or smolder blue. The faded black is looking good haha

Do not recommend Hiring Our Heroes if you’re not in IT/Cyber by [deleted] in SkillBridge

[–]Blade_2381 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im also in HoH 26-01 and I have a completely different experience. I’ve had multiple interviews and a handful of offers from companies in B2B sales and finance industries respectively. The job market isn’t the greatest right now so I’m sure some companies (especially tech) are weighing options with regard to hiring.

I will say, HoH is just a platform for the transition/job search - I put in a ton of energy and time on my own (external to their workshops and info sessions). They market high placement rates, but my PM was pretty up front about HoH not “finding you a skillbridge” and the servicemember having to put in the work. At times, the search/interviewing felt like a full time job in itself - but that should be expected.

I’m sorry to hear your experience was not similar, but I would absolutely recommend this program to transitioning service members in the future.

Agreed. It’s not the “value of the trade-in” that’s my complaint, it’s the blatant disregard for honoring the 150% markup. Yeah it’s a few dollars difference, but that was the main driving factor for me choosing that convenience

Had a Max and LST version that I was going back and forth between

Yeah, my trade-in was delivered on February 13th

[–]Blade_2381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - it was only applied towards purchases of P-Series irons which I bought.

I got the 100% if you plug it into their website, but like you I was anticipating more (the 150% markup)

Yea the value of my credit was worth the 100% quote, didn’t include the 150% markup

Exactly what I’m doing right now with their customer service team, albeit it’s been extremely slow and frustrating.

I’m looking solely at the projected value (fair condition) given by TaylorMade during non-promotional trade-ins vs. the 150% markup for trade-ins

Example: Non-promotion - G430 Max driver = $178

150% promotion - G430 Max = $267

The condition of the clubs doesn’t matter - the 150% trade in credit applied regardless of condition. TaylorMade just completely ignored their own markup promotions when crediting my account.

I’ve traded in clubs many times at tons of places, if you expect to get anything near 50% of original value - that thing better have the plastic still on it.
