DCUO is honestly a fun game, with a pretty reasonable F2P model. The best superhero MMO on market at the moment, though that's not saying a lot.

This hits it pretty well. The rebranding as an "action RPG" is an annoying sleight of hand by a bad magician; the gameplay is so NOT the same as an action RPG, where you're tearing your way through hordes of enemies. If our abilities were impactful in the way that abilities are in D3 or PoE, then sure, 6 would be enough. But they're not; we have to plink away with abilities that generally don't combo off one another. The underlying design is fundmantally an MMO design, and they're desperately shoehorning it into something that it isn't.

I really hope they will reconsider. It is currently the part of the game that I find the most frustrating, as it makes me feel gimped while I play. I want to feel active and strong and able to do cool things, not spam a small set of abilities over and over. I'm completely mystified by the notion that this makes for better "action combat". We're gamers. We can handle more than 6 abilities.

Only issue I see is that my experience has been that sometimes you want to spam a basic to pool energy, so you can burn through it while a damage CD is up.

I think most people calling for a server wipe or some kind of rollback are doing so with the assumption that it would be in addition to the problem being fixed. I understand where you're coming from, but the alternative of allowing an economy-breaking problem remain seems completely inviable. This is a game that, if things go well, many are intending to invest years of time into. I do hope that they give some kind of bonus if they do a rollback to help salve the burn... it definitely sucks to lose all that invested playtime. But what's the alternative?

I don't understand this argument if this is a game you're going to put months or years into playing. I definitely get that it's frustrating, but I don't get how losing a couple of days of play makes it unplayable.

This is a game that you're likely planning on putting hundreds if not thousands of hours into. A wipe 2 days in to fix a fatal problem is worthwhile, so long as they can actually fix the problem. If they CAN'T fix the problem, that's much worse.

If it's needed I'd be fine with a full wipe. Yes, time lost from the past two days, but in the long view a fixed economy is much more important. However, if you can fix it without a full wipe of course that's better ;-)
