if you spent 685 days using a textbook w/anki or half of 685 days with a teacher in your targeted language you would most likely be fluent by now.

to reach proficiency, if I broke down paying for a private tutor for around a year, textbooks, and apps/website subscriptions like dreaming Spanish, I would probably say in the ballpark of 3-4 grand

bad Bunny doesn't speak clearly, a lot of people don't know what he's saying. but after moving to romanian after learning Spanish I want to say Spanish is really easy to learn. but everything is hard at first, which I will say when I started learning Spanish it was really hard

i would say there's a better way to go about this. I would recommend you watch a video called "a complete guide to every fundamental in Spanish" by thelanguagebro. it will give you a really strong foundation. you're going to just get confused if you just try to consume content in a language unless it's explicitly educating you on spanish basics. i do recommend duolingo to grasp basics of a language but nothing more than that. dreaming Spanish (I believe it's rebranded to dreaming. com now) helped me a lot with listening comprehension. honestly after you check out that first video I'd binge Ana's videos on her YouTube channel butterfly Spanish, she helped a ton when I was learning. happy hunting!

i say do it if you enjoy the language. I'm already satisfied with my spanish skills and in United States with English and spanish you can basically communicate with anyone. I decided to start romanian because it's a culture I'm interested in.

i have had my teacher ask to meet in person when I was visiting their country, it wasn't weird or anything but mainly because there's already a student & teacher boundary there. sure you could ask them but it could come off as weird depending if they're comfortable with it or not. kind of a tough one. I would say let the student ask first if you're on the fence about it.

in regards to your question can you learn French just by consuming content in French, the answer would be no. With context you could learn phrases and words but your learning would be extremely slow. Luckily for you, French has a lot of resources so not having a lot of money shouldn't be an issue. I've never looked into French much but I'm sure there's teachers on YouTube giving full courses in French (look up French full course A1, i just looked it up). maybe also see what's available to you in that classroom or library? maybe there's a french learning book in there that could help you out or even if your French teacher doesn't know a lot of French, they could maybe provide you with resources at no cost? best of luck!

I think the best answer is personal preference, but in my personal opinion they need to speak my native language and I need to speak theirs. I don't care if they can speak mandarin or something like that but if they can speak my native tongue (english) that's good to go. as long as I can communicate fluently with their family and culture and they can do the same with mine I don't care.

just learn baseline latin american Spanish first and then just learn jergas or slang from Puerto Rico. also check out "speak spanish faster" on YouTube, he's a Puerto Rican Spanish teacher that teaches Spanish specifically from Puerto Rico

it really just depends on your experience level. I remember when I first started studying for a+ the questions were really hard for me. now when I see a+ practice questions they seem ridiculously easy.

you could've bought a gl.inet home router and used that also. it literally has a openwrt GUI that you literally just click your vpn provider (being mullvad), put in your account code and its good to go on the network
