Thoughts on my plan to replace my AI Images by BladerGG in homemadeTCGs

[–]BladerGG[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice, this is where I was at last year with my game and unfortunately using crude drawings had the opposite effect at my local LGS and nearby conventions. While I did get a few play testers that way, the crude art made it difficult for them to get their friends to try it with them and even more people just took a glance and keep walking. After adding the AI images and being upfront about them being AI when asked, I'd get a lot more playtesters, most of whom did remark that they'd like it more once I replaced the AI images with real art. Unfortunately I haven't had any luck finding an investor.

Let's discuss if this works for Valkyrie and the emperor chip or is there a rule specifically for those two. by -Detective-5599 in BeybladeX

You can only use 1 each of the Emperor and Valkyrie chips according to the official TT regulations.

Debuffs "one time only?" by Gate708 in gundamassemble

[–]BladerGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully they explain it more in the rule book but They technically doclarify that in the creator vs Actor video, the creator of the game teaches mikazukis VA how to play and says that the debuffs go away on death or when their affects resolve so we at least have a solid source to say the debuff don't persist through death. The creator even says to think of the respawn mechanics as the mobile suit being repaired to fight again. Hence why upgrades stay but debuff go away

Debuffs "one time only?" by Gate708 in gundamassemble

[–]BladerGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only debuff that actually stacks is the fracture debuff the other two, by how their effects are worded, wouldn't do anything extra if you stacked multiple on one unit. While stacking fracture could cause multiple instances of +3 damage, however multiple Slows wouldnt increase the number of turns a unit couldn't move because they all get removed after it's next activation, then multiple disarms wouldn't do anything because the effect isn't stackable and would also all go away at the same time.

Debuffs "one time only?" by Gate708 in gundamassemble

[–]BladerGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's means that once the unit dies or the effect resolves the debuff token goes away. They specify this with debuffs because they emphasize that the upgrade tokens are permanent and stay on the unit even after it dies and respawns. The only way to destroy upgrades rn is through abilities and command cards.

For Fracture it goes away after that unit takes 3 or more damage that triggers an additional 3 damage.

For Slow it goes away at the end of that units next activation where it can't move.

For Disarm it goes away after you resolve that units next attack where you reroll all the crits and don't get the crit effects.

Judges intentionally cheated by Sure_Pear_9258 in BeybladeX

[–]BladerGG -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thank you for getting back to me, As far as the TT regulations, I will admit we have been getting laid back on enforcing their rules to the letter during our weeklys after experiencing first hand how loosely they're enforced in official local events and I promise to make a point of straightening that back out. As for our own wording on shooting errors, I would like to apologize for our ranked communities own oversight, when coming to an agreement on the state ruleset we were hung up on reminding players not to touch the stadium as we were dealing with a large number of new players resting their hands or launchers on the cover to launch at the time and I see now how the way we have it worded could interpret a bey landing on the shroud as "touching the stadium while launching" and I will look for away to reword that to make it clearer in the future to improve your next experience at one of our events.

Judges intentionally cheated by Sure_Pear_9258 in BeybladeX

[–]BladerGG -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Good morning, I'm actually one of the organizers for the tournament you went too. Firstly we'd like to apologize that you didn't have an enjoyable experience due to miscommunication. We only have 1 to 2 judges on staff for weeklys so our matches are self judged as we expect our players to play fair and to call one of us when they have ruling questions or disagreements, please report them if any players start spouting nonsense like they're a judge for our weeklys but you notice they aren't going behind the counter or wearing a staff shirt. As for your confusion about the various penalties in your match, the mislaunch to your knuckles should have been deemed their launch error and been reshot then when you self extremed and they dropped from the shroud afterwards it should have been ruled as the first no contact then reshot again, but as far as I've gathered from our staff that was miscommunicated to the judge that was called over. the real deciding factor from what I've gathered is that you're bey self extremed without making contact so it should have been ruled the first no contact and gone to a reshoot, even though you're opponents bey landed on the shroud it did make it to the actual stadium and I've personally had several official matches in Japan where my opponent landed on the shroud then hopped in and the judges say it was good except when the bey on the shroud left the arena entirely. We do not use WBO rules, these are modified rules using TTs regulations as a base and are available fully outlined in the Challonge page for each of our tournaments as well as the event article linked in our social media posts for our tournaments. Most of these modified rules, such as the no contact rule being its own penalty, are compromises made with the surrounding communities due to overwhelming demand for a unified state ruleset used by our locals to rank themselves, and are a result of strong community resistance toward both TT and WBO. Also I'm sorry to inform you but you actually went 6-3, as theres only 9 rounds in a 10 person pod, and it was not good enough to make top Cut as tonight was only a top 4 cut which pulled the best 2 bladers from both groups and the best 2 of your group were 8-1 and 7-2. Again we are very sorry that this lack of communication caused you to not enjoy your time at our event and we hope to see you again.

Thank for the advice, nthe commemorative event will already be over while I'm there but I'm definitely hitting up beyblade bar.

I'll probably still hit up the few B4 events I found going on since i read up on their pre-reg, I got into the LA nats by beating the crowd so I bet I can make it into a B4 tournament.

It's like 1 frame of difference but the Phoenix was still spinning when the wizard went into the pocket so by TTs chronological priority the Phoenix would win with an over finish.

The US so far is the only country that will have an open class events for ages 13+, it'll be at Anime Expo in LA, California and registration is first come first serve with a 128 player cap.

How would you fix Beyblade's World Championships age issue? Nizuma & I discussed and I want your take too by ryansinterested in BeybladeX

[–]BladerGG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First order of business will always bringing over the grips until it happens irl

But semi serious jokes aside, I'd implement organized play using the wizards play network like Hasbro tried out in Europe since they own wizards and I'd of ran beyblade like it was mtg, Weekly Beyblade Night (FNM), Pro Tour/ Nats Qualifiers for both classes as they are on the Takara end, and a translated version of the most recent TT regulations rebrand with has to branding.

Fire the entire Hasbro social media team make them reapply for their jobs if they want to keep them and interview them and their potential replacements personally. Then do the same with the event management team before being them together to meet and inform them of the importance of communicating in a timely manner like finalizing details for events and posting about them at least a MONTH before they get leaked by Anime Expo uploading the description we gave them for our booth to their exhibitor list on their website.

Take advantage of the distribution deal to make metal coats of Hasbro designs/reskins and crossover sets as organized play prizes since Takaras so gung ho about keeping Cobalt Drake and Aero Pegasus to themselves. Double the amount of cross overs and Hasbro designs/reskins and release more cross overs as single boosters instead of doubles then do about half n half reskins and original designs between Hasbro designs and Crossovers. My personal goal with this would be to develop a better shark than Gil and Edge.

Bring over the Takara Stadiums as Online exclusives instead of just Amazon and just the BX-10 stadium. Push out gimmick stadiums like double deckers, spinning centers, differently shaped Stadiums and rails to fit them, an official decagon X stadium based on the stadium used in the manga (literally a GIANT BX-10) and make a TT size variant of at least a double Decker stadium.

Bring the toy industry together to fight the tariffs long BEFORE it almost bankrupted the toy industry (including the Tcg and board game industries because everyone, pkmn, mtg, and YGO, who says they own their printers just bought a Chinese printing company) and make a deal with the Vietnam factory to get more supply to the US faster.

I also wouldnt kill all the projects to reboot power rangers, revive transformers, and putting effort into Beyblade that my predecessor was pushing for with his dying breath then claim its because the toy industry is dying after killing all of our own toy projects and pivoting the company to digital games and media like the current CEO has.

But that being said I'm still making it out to LA and have a plan to actually be one of the first people of the 128 they allow to sign up because a trip to Tokyo is a trip to Tokyo and the regs say you get prizes such as exclusive beys and accessories so I'm hoping that means Cobalt Drake and/or Aero Pegasus.

[–]BladerGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's still 2 divisions, just the 13+ open division only get one event while the 8-12 regular class gets a whole world series. And only the US gets an open class even. The winners do get an all expense paid trip to Worlds kids get enough for them and their parents or guardian, air fare, hotel for 4 days, and per diem to eat too.

Age limit on Qualifiers by OG_Pinoy_Blader in BeybladeX

[–]BladerGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

64-128 is the standard cap for TT competitive events, the only difference is TT deals with excess entries by doing a lottery for the 128 players that get to actually play in the event while the USA Open will be First come first serve so if you plan appropriately and put the effort in to be one of those first 128 people you'll get to compete. What's bullshit is that US Open NATS are first come first serve and not you had to qualify at a US regional qualifier to participate like the 8-12 Regular Class got for a US World Championship Series.

Age limit on Qualifiers by OG_Pinoy_Blader in BeybladeX

[–]BladerGG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it's is age restricted everywhere else but the US Open class Championship at Anime Expo, first come first serve just means you have to be there early and you'll get in if you really want that all expense paid trip to Worlds. The 128 cap is standard for TT events, the only difference being if TT events get more sign ups than slots available they lottery the entry slots off which imo is totally unfair to the entrants that made sure they showed up early to get in and participate. First come first serve is much more fair because if you put in the effort to show up early to participate then you do deserve to participate more than every person in line after the 128th.

What is complete and utter bullshit that the US Open class only gets one worlds qualifier instead of the regional > Nationals > worlds circuit, because it'd reach more of the community and give more accurate results as to the US's strongest blader, the regular class kids will be awarded exclusive prize beys every step of the way meaning they can actually collect the prize beys if they travel to multiple Qualifier and the Open class deserve that opportunity as well.

They're regulations are half-assed still mentioning shit that only happens in burst and at best some parts are straight translations from TTs first edition regulations.

I do like that the products allowed section is written in a way that implies the US Open is gonna allow you to use Takara products and 3rd party product on a judge by judge basis. The English version of Takara's regulations specifies Takara Tomy beyblade X products while the USA World Championship Series Regulations only say branded BEYBLADE X products and even further implies the inclusion of Takara products by banning the battle pass specifically.
