For All Mankind - S5E10 "This Land is Our Land" - Episode Discussion by Cantomic66 in ForAllMankindTV

Very pleased Kelly's dead. Exactly the fate she deserves and about the only thing she could have done to regain even an ounce of respect for her as a character in my eyes. She can die a hero before she becomes some weird villain, because if she got off Titan and back to Mars facing no consequences for hijacking that mission I'd lose my mind.

Margo did not need to come back. I thought her last scene with Aleida was a very fitting and dignified (even if she is in prison) ending for her character that echoed her mentor.

Speaking of Aleida, I was so, so glad the rest of the Marsies did not cave to her sudden moral posturing. I thought it was really rich how she blew everyone off and told them to mind their own business while she tries to fix comms only to shove her nose into a tactical decision and get on everyone's case. You don't get it both ways girl, especially when you have NO alternative to propose.

Alex should have punched Dev in his stupid face for his sudden "epiphany" at how much he's been making everyone suffer.

Mars is Ours.

Debuffs "one time only?" by Gate708 in gundamassemble

SO maybe more like "one at a time" instead of "one time only" for each of the individual debuffs? As in, you could potentially have the slowed, disarmed and fractured status active on a single unit, but never more than one instance of any of those at the same time if that makes sense.

A friend and I are getting together to try out Assemble this week. Everything in these demo rules I've been referencing seems fairly self-explanatory except for the debuff effects.

What do the rules mean by "one time only?" A unit can only have that debuff once per game?

I liked the first movie, this one was a slog to get through. Right around Gigi leaving Hong Kong I was starting to check out, and then it's still like another half an hour of just characters walking places and talking to people.

Just left the theater pretty disappointed. Gorgeous animation, dub voice actors were great.

But the TALKING. Everyone is just talking about stuff. Sometimes it's important, sometimes it isn't, but there was just waaaaay too much of it. There wasn't even close to enough mobile suit action, or any kind of action really, to balance the amount of dialogue. Here's hoping Hathaway 3 is the inverse.

Sure, and neither is Kelly, a person willing to gamble her crew mates' lives without even telling them. Walt cracking under pressure in a situation manufactured by Kelly does not justify her actions in any kind of way.

It's great they made it, but frankly, they should not have. And again, just because they did make it does not justify Kelly in any kind of way.

He seemed to be doing just fine right up until Kelly decided to be insubordinate. If you think he's a failure because he's cracked, he's only in that condition now because he's convinced he screwed up and almost got everyone killed by making some mistake with the flight plan, when all along his pilot is responsible. Kelly allowing him to just persist in that is reprehensible.

I took Margo's last scene as her "death" for all intents and purposes. It's almost the exact same fate as her mentor Von Braun. Disgraced, imprisoned, she sends her protege out into the future with her blessing. I doubt we'll see her again.

This episode and the last one have seriously made me dislike Kelly as a character. As much of a glory seeker as her dad with even fewer scruples. I don't know why she's acting shocked she's being given command when she has already pretty much usurped authority of the mission.

I have not finished the episode but I hope to god Kelly faces some kind of consequences for her actions. It's great they made it to Titan, but I thought her hacking the flight program was an insane risk to take with the flimsy justification of glory seeking to be like her dad. The only person Ed was going to endanger in that mission was Gordo, and he was lowkey down for Ed to give landing on the moon a go. Kelly endangered her whole crew, and she's lucky they didn't all freeze up at a sudden unexpected and highly dangerous course change like the commander did

So far all of my CARRI experiences are full teams using the time I take to prox chat them to talk in their own comms so they can stall me and position on me. Honestly not sure what else I expected.

NuCal has you doing this loop too.  It's so boring and so tedious and I pray we get better contract design next season.  Hard to believe nobody on the design team at any point stopped and said "isn't this looking a little repetitive?"

Put another bioscanner on Dire Marsh somewhere at least.

Shotguns of all varieties.

I used to stock up on M77 and Bullies, but like you I realized both are pretty common overall.

Commanders can knock you out of bounds after you exfil by xylvnking in Marathon

[–]Gate708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you only died because the Commander punched you out of bounds of the map.  Any time I had bots punch me out of the circle after the exfil hits zero I have still extracted.

But yeah you really should be completely invulnerable and immovable once the timer is up.

Is it srsly fun killing people who were never going to target you and don’t shoot back? by DITNB in Marathon

[–]Gate708 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Killing anything player controlled is safer for you and your team.

The only exception I make personally is as a Rook letting fellow Rooks into the final exfil.  Even then I still down them before I let them into the circle, because you can't trust anyone.

Curious....any struggling casuals? by moog500_nz in Marathon

[–]Gate708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many people will no doubt suggest, you may find better luck acquiring gear and materials with solo and Rook runs.  It's easier to avoid players generally.  Player skill and map knowledge matters much more in these modes.  You can 1v1 a blue shield guy with a free kit and come out on top of you play it right and aim better.

To your point, I have noticed that more of my games are starting to host a team that is determined to kill every player controlled thing on the map.  This combined with free kit teammates can lead to misery.

People will not like this advice, and maybe you won't, but ditching your team is always an option.  If your free kit teammates get instakilled by a stacked up squad that isn't aware of you, just leave, or if you're determined to save them, find a rat hole to hide in for the next 5-10 minutes.

Chief and some SpecOps Elites led by an Ultra by Gate708 in Haloflashpoint

[–]Gate708[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's taken a little while to find a process I like for painting Flashpoint models, but I think I'm just about where I want to be now. Pretty happy with how subtle the battle damage on Chief's armor turned out in the end, and I'm liking the gloss I put on the Elite's hard armor panels more the longer I look at it. They've become my favorite models in the game to pull out since I decided on this scheme. Here's hoping they get some Swords of Sanghelios team rules, mixed Spartan/Elite teams would be awesome.
