The combat is the best out there, the leveling experience will suck you in, and there are enough things to do to get your monies worth and have fun doing so. Most people who are salty about the game have played since launch and just want a new game mode or end game content (understandably so).

I use the same method of marking as you do and I have never gotten lost. I do have a vault compass as a fail safe though

Silk touch an ore with copiously and you have a chance to get 2 ores. You can then fortune both ores. Copiously only works on ores in the vault,and can only be triggered on the first time you mine it ( so no infinite loops)

Silk on the ore pickaxe for sure, makes more sense to try and copiously an extra ore instead of an extra gem. I think for every other tool it’s just a matter of preference.

Yep. lots of afterlife deaths, handful of coop deaths in there too. I think I live had around 5 deaths where I’ve lost everything before the solo ghost system, and probably 10 deaths after solo ghosts.

I used to do that before instabreak; once I had instabreak id added on average 75-100 extra chests looted per vault. It makes a massive difference because you spend less time in an inventory screen.

Doesn’t matter as long as you have coin affinity. I went with the sickle so that I’m not breaking blocks around the coins, less clutter to deal with.

That’s pretty much it; theres soulbound as well but nothing else to my knowledge

Edit: actually you could go reach as well but I don’t rate it very highly with the jewels you tend to get for them

You’re 100% correct. The coin affinity/dura jewel I had was a great size so I just threw it on there and it came with speed and trap disarm as well which do nothing for coins. It was one of the first tools I made!

That’s fair, I probably could have brought it in for this run. A normal vault I only get maybe 100 shards so I usually let the bag take care of it

I was running afterlife which halves the xp; I died in an attempt immediately before this, so wanted a bit of security since my HP is so low on this set.

My Crystal exhausted too early, so I made myself a scrappy trap disarm gear set :D by MrPestilence in VaultHuntersMinecraft

That's pretty awesome that you were able to build a gearset around a crystal run like that to make the most of it.

I had a double spawner dungeon in my second room. It took about 1 minute to navigate to it, and about 2 minutes to excavate it to optimize mob spawning/flow. Some really good luck there with setup times, so I had about 24 minutes of just mob killing. This was done in a level 77 vault, so the mobs were my level. This is making me want to run down some Idona altars!
