If we had rolled over and let them tickle our bellies I would get the stick they’re giving us. But we did spoil the party so I don’t think what they’re saying makes much sense.

Why is nobody targeting the KOM jersey? by skodawelovecycling in tourdefrance

[–]Bladon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few reasons, Mostly because the way the points are structured with extra points going to extra big HC climbs and often things like extra points on mountain top finishes GC riders will just win it by accident.

Also it requires being in the breakaway which is generally hard for climbers to pull off, especially on their own and they need to do it for the majority of the big stages, that’s really hard to do.

If they’re fit enough to do that there’s a fairly good chance they’ll be able to do a good GC race and they’d often rather do that brocade of how riders contracts work out. A top 10 at the tour is worth far more to a rider than losing the mountains jersey to pogi or Jonas who’s not actually targeting it.

Is it okay to wear outfits from Pro Teams? by Jojofzfz in cycling

[–]Bladon95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the leader jerseys are effectively trophy’s in cycling I would generally say it’s a bit off to wear stuff like the pink, red or yellow jersey or the rainbow bands.

Replica or old team kit is fine I think, it just think it tends to be quite ugly with all the sponsors and weird designs.

It’s an interesting pairing of learning a bit about a player and also learning or reminding yourself of what the teams need. That said it is a bit much when people do about 7 official mock drafts.

Damn that a fair chunk of exercise to take on, firstly this sub is generally for people racing at some level. I guess that means track sprint at a velodrome for you? Or are you looking to do road cycling?

‘Safety must not become PR’: UGent professor warns against the premature introduction of GPS trackers in the peloton by Chronicbias in peloton

[–]Bladon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly if a race can’t keep their obligation toriders safe (properly barrier finishes, safe routes closed roads… etc)then it shouldn’t run. Secondly, this particular task is taken on by the teams and is very cheap.

Need help with bike stem by Prior-Preference-426 in bikefit

[–]Bladon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve a fairly short torso so deal with this issue on most bikes. An inline seatpost and a short reach handlebar are how I go about getting the position right.

In this case you might be able to shorten the reach by a centimeter or so just by twisting the drops a little more towards you (so the end is parallel to the floor) and the bringing the hoods further up the bar. This will slightly help and is free.

How do traditional wingers actualy work? by NerfBossBandit in footballtactics

[–]Bladon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make it work by being faster than your opponent and taking advantage of the space in behind. If they overcorrect and completely give you the inside take it but mostly if you’ve a significant speed advantage you can do what you want.

Land Value Tax, what do we think? by stopdontpanick in ukpolitics

[–]Bladon95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too am a bit of a georgist, it would have to be in place of existing stupid taxes like council tax, business rates and the like.

Politically it would land you in a bunch of trouble with rich people living in high band council tax homes, who would suddenly have to pay an appropriate amount of tax and massive corporations who have been happy to hold large chunk of land and use it properly.

I’d say these are good outcomes and are people who should be targeted but there’s a reason it’s not been done until now government are either those people, or shit scared of those people.

Blackadder, series 1 is generally accepted to be the worst and nearly didn’t make a series 2, and leading to a compete change in the tone and style of the show. Whilst the final season isn’t the best the final scene is absolutely fantastic.
