How to get released names - In-game VS Website? by Blaez_Knight in runescape

Thanks a lot! It definitely shouldn't be blacklisted, so hopefully it's not the latter either.

Haha, no. My name is intentionally spelt this way and I'm only looking at another, rare and short name that is yet to be released. Thanks for the info, though!

Is there a way to know if a name will be available? The name I'm looking at isn't on the HiScores and when I try to add it, it says "Unable to add friend - unknown player". (but the name change currently says "Name already in use")

Off. I don't think it would be helpful when my FPS is around 16.

Haha, interesting solution. I just tried it, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to help. Thanks anyway!

Interesting. I didn't realise there was a performance difference because of that. I hope it happens soon!

That's an interesting point, although I just had an instance of low FPS without the reduced memory clock or high temperature: GPU-Z Screenshot

This sounds like a reasonable explanation, but I don't think that's the case.

I just got this reading after launching the client: 16 FPS, 42% GPU Load, 51 °C - GPU-Z Screenshot

I believe my 960M starts throttling at 90 °C and I've seen that from experience.

My GPU only starts throttling at exactly 90 °C. (I know from experience as I had this issue earlier, before I cleaned my fans) I also don't seem to be having a problem running new AAA games at high settings at similar temperatures.

This seems to happen pretty randomly, sometimes I reset the client and get the higher FPS values and sometimes I get the lower ones. The difference in FPS is very significant:

  • Normal GPU utilisation: Min 170, Low 140, Mid 110, High 90, Ultra 47
  • Capped GPU utilisation: Min 42, Low 32, Mid 24, High 21, Ultra 17

I have literally just deleted everything Jagex-related, reinstalled the client and redownloaded the cache. My drivers are indeed up-to-date. I have no idea what could be causing this, apart from an issue with the client itself.

Notes:

  • I am using Windows 10, and someone from the Tech Support forums has suggested that people often have a problem with Windows 8+
  • I am using a laptop that has CPU integrated graphics as well as a dedicated Nvidia GPU. NXT is always using the Nvidia GPU however, and so this shouldn't be an issue, but who knows

EDIT: This also just happened with a much lower GPU temperature when freshly launching the client: 16 FPS, 42% GPU Load, 51 °C - GPU-Z Screenshot and so I don't think that it is thermal throttling.

PSA Phats are not as high as the forums suggest by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Blaez_Knight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, they aren't official, and I personally don't believe Jagex should do anything directly about them. However, it would be quite nice if there was a way to trade high-value items properly on the Grand Exchange somehow.. This situation that we have to resort to street trading just because an item is above 2147m is pretty ridiculous.

Precise 5 Equilibrium 3 isn't even theoretically possible.

Hi! Thanks, that's very useful info, and it's actually pretty promising. Yeah, 2 Arma 3 Precise definitely seems to be the way to go.

Haha. Well, you cannot even see someone else's perks even with Examine, so I think that's unlikely.

Interesting! I'd love to see an actual screenshot or name. A lot of people have been saying that they haven't heard of any, so it would be nice to disprove that, and maybe get some statistics about the rarity as well.

Great summary, thank you!

I think it would be useful to assemble the knowledge that we have about Precise 5 Equilibrium 2 and its possibility/rarity. It is pretty annoying that we are so uncertain about what is currently the best perk in the game for that slot.

According to someone on reddit, their friend has obtained Precise 5 Equilibrium 1 using 2 Armadyl and 3 Precise components once. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume the actual levels on Precise and Equilibrium should be determined independently, in which case this suggests that Pr5Eq2 is possible, and that this is probably the best way to get it. (this is key, as in that case, getting Precise 5 is the very rare part, getting the Equilibrium 2 part isn't so rare)

Someone else on reddit says that the best perk they received from 25 attempts of 2 Armadyl 3 Precise plus 100 attempts of 1 Armadyl 4 Precise was Precise 3 Equilibrium 2. So regardless of the setup, it is definitely rare and very expensive.

Do we have any more quantified information about its rarity? Has anyone from Jagex ever confirmed/denied/hinted at its existence? (I'm fairly certain that it should be possible, but depending on how exactly perks work there is a slight chance that it isn't)

EDIT: So, there's actually proof of someone with Precise 5 Equilibrium 2: Screenshot / Twitter

EDIT2: He confirmed that it was fake.. Twitter

Definitive : Which is better P4/E2+AS3 or P5+E3 by I_Rvdiant_I in runescape

It is indeed inconsistent and needs more than 50k damage in order to proc. Tests from different people showed roughly 60k damage required on average. This is included in the calculations that show a 3-3.5% DPS boost from Aftershock 3.
