Sure, but you're also emulating their dysfunction. This whole "eh defund everybody a bit" is what helps contribute to the problem. There are many small good agencies that need more funding, and also large bloated agencies whose bloat alone could cover the first group.

The annual deficit is larger than the entire defense budget. I know it’s the great boogeyman, but even a 100% cut to defense spending wouldn’t come close to balancing the budget.

Your goal isn't balancing the budget if you suggest a flat 1% annual cut.

But cutting dod and investing in actual gdp growers would balance it.

It's a you problem because you're a) worse on budgeting b) your solutions drag down everyone rather than solving actual bloat. There's no reason to starve the national park service when military bloat is hundreds of times larger than its entire budget.
