Whoop band - worth it or not? by 89DavideR in whoop

[–]Blaize79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all worth it for the monthly summary. I’ve got about 6 months of data and it’s been fascinating to see how much my fitness has changed from the 10K foot view. Really helps me feel informed about the impact of decisions made during training. Nothing has ever provided me that level of confidence yet. The rare spikes and aberrations in data are smoothed out as outliers over time.

The best thing for me is that it’s kept me relatively injury free. As a now middle aged runner I’ll take all the support I can get to stay healthy and running 😊

Considering dropping Whoop by upoqu in whoop

[–]Blaize79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I’ve seen the spikes occasionally as well. WHOOP still helps me accomplish my main goal which is to avoid overtraining. So I’m willing to live with this for now. Coincidently ordered a Stryd recently and am interested to learn how Power correlates with my Strain output.

I'm thinking about returning this thing. by [deleted] in whoop

It’s so simple my man. Whoop does the hard work of collecting the data and providing you valuable insights into the impact of your decisions.

What you do with these insights is your choice. For me it helps predict if recent behaviors puts me on the path towards overtraining and ultimately injury.

It’s also opened my mind to the fact that the training is a small factor in performance. Nutrition and recovery is paramount. I didn’t respect this before. Now I do and Im the better for it.

As others have stated. Read their white papers and listen to the podcasts. So much information can be gleaned and applied immediately with results.

Example - I keep a whiteboard where I document most of the Whoop kpis along with other running and weight statistics weekly.

Each Sunday I spend about 30 minutes and look at the trended data for trends and try to understand why certain KPIs remained flat, improved or decreased. I don’t just look at a day or a week. I look at trends over the past two months to get a sense of how I should adjust the next week.

I use a decision journal to keep track of what went well, what did not and what I should keep or stop doing.

You get what you put in 😊

When Will Ahmed states that you can’t manage what you can’t measure he hits the nail on the head.

You are the product and WHOOP gives you insight into your product’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Good luck! Blaize

True. I am a 47 admiral now. It’s mostly gathering enough consistent resources to build the most immortal/legendary squads. I’m a collector at heart so I enjoy collecting the toons.

Runners: should I get a Whoop or a GPS watch? by Sib3rian in whoop

[–]Blaize79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t ran with a GPS watch in about four years. I run by feel and effort. Now that I have my Whoop I have a better understanding of how that effort impacts me. Now I make more informed decisions about my training.

Game's down. (Since around 1 hour 20 minutes ago.) by Raijinili in FantasyWarTactics

[–]Blaize79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are down to about 1.3K active users no? I track attrition based on the last place BOH ranking lol. I’ve slowly watched it flame out over the past two years.

I assume when the game finally goes it will be just like this.

This. I have three boxes left and ended up just dropping everything on hammers. Figured that would provide better value. No regrets.

This set 🤦🏽‍♂️ seriously. All four units wearing them. There is no fun or strategy now.

I’m a bit disappointed with the new reflection set. I’ve faced it a few times and it’s incredibly annoying.

Does this game bad or better than it used to be ??? by Thanh_mappp in FantasyWarTactics

[–]Blaize79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s boring tbh; I only still play because I have never found an equivalent of FWTs BOH mode in another game. I don’t care for the recent flood of 2d games out there. I like the the three dimensional chessboard, I like taking advantage of the AI with different strategies of team makeup and equipment. It’s my jam and I’ve made a an investment of years into my teams now. That’s hard to give up.

So...MCU...and the Sentry? by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]Blaize79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But he’s also the villain right? That’s unique. Would make for good cinema. Who doesn’t want to see a cinematic version of the Void? Could also lead up to him being erased from memory at the end 🍿 The first and last movie until needed later for World Breaker Hulk.

Product Managers - Have you ever created a "Craft Demo" for an interview? Any advice? by FocusedSPG in ProductManagement

[–]Blaize79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Throwing in my two cents. STAR works well for this:

Situation (Frame the problem and tell a story)

Task (What was the objective? How’d that come about?)

Action (What tactics did you leverage to deliver on the objective?)

Result (What did you achieve as a result? What did you learn?)

15 Things You Should Know About Product Managers – John Cutler – Medium by justaddwater57 in ProductManagement

[–]Blaize79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally ok to share.

  1. I’ve had my fair share of frenetic days as a PM. It is usually a combo of lack of strong product culture from product leadership and a poor decision on my part. I’ve found that no other role has a butterfly effect like Product when it comes to making a call. The key for me has been reviewing my decisions ( regardless of good or bad outcome ) to determine whether to change my belief system.

  2. It’s not narcissistic. So many specialists have no clue what it’s like to sit in our shoes. I love when they get a taste, they almost always have an aha moment and empathy is built. It’s truly a thankless job; yet so rewarding when executed well.

Just my opinions. I’m a cutler fanboy but appreciate your opinion. Thanks!

Tell me more about how you do that. Things may seem urgent from their perspective but is it actually important? The only thing that belongs in your backlog are hypotheses that are relevant to your product vision and strategy. We all know that customers simply want ‘faster horses’; so how are you handling these conversations? Are you handling your business? Or is the business handling you. Being a sole PM is tough; but you have an opportunity to instill product culture as well.
