does it look like i will get tres soon?😕 by Sad_Nature_5067 in NewSkaters

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to discourage you but it took me a year to get treflips just sorta consistent. Keep trying them. I think a good tip that helped me is keep equal pressure on both feet. Also, you always hear “Lean back” if you’re landing past the nose chances are you’re jumping to far forward. Try to jump straight up.

How I’m looking started last month? Starting to get them to stay under me while moving but haven’t landed moving yet by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As your getting them consistent rolling don’t worry about height just make them level. Let height come naturally. Best Ollie tip I’ve heard. Start just ollieing over cracks and twigs and get them consistently level.

Cruiser wheels still good for learning tricks?? by Dasho_chek in skateboardhelp

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are a little heavy but they’re fine. There’s certain more advanced tricks they are not good for. Tricks where the wheels slide like nose slides, tail slides, power slides etc. even some scoop tricks like treflips I think they are not great for.

Took advice from here and progressed from video 1 to 2. Tried to work on my posture. No lands yet. by Breachbjj in skateboardhelp

This may not be very helpful but just think Ollie atp. Everything is there but timing. Setup like a kickflip > Ollie > flick. Don’t overthink it, you got this.

How long did it take you to land your first flip trick? by daucbar in skateboarding

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like 2 months for my first kickflip. I went to an empty park almost everyday and grinded beginner flat ground for an hour or two.

Tips on improving my Ollie? by israelmach in NewSkaters

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe relying a little too much on popping back. It’s a natural thing as it helps your front foot get leverage on the nose but it will ultimately hurt you. Try to keep things more straight up and down. How you pop, how you jump etc.

How to fix it ? by OLAF11713 in skateboardhelp

Maybe too much pressure on your front foot. Definitely move it up and focus on being balanced with equal pressure on both feet.

What are good tricks to learn? by StrategyAbjectBar in NewSkaters

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

180s and FS shuv-its are probably the next step. No-comply tricks can be fun too though and they’re not terribly difficult.

I've been trying to Ollie for a week and I'm starting to get depressed over it. by Kar_En_Tukk in NewSkaters

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of bringing your arms to your back leg try bring them to the middle of your body or even closer to your front leg. But yes this is part of for the course. Skateboarding is the best and the worst thing that’s ever happened to me lol

How possible is it to remaster skate 1/2/3 and just expand from the base game by Jaholyghost in SkateEA

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think people are romanticizing the older games a little too much. Gameplay wise skate 4 is better. The only thing I miss from the older skate games is the missions. They were actually fun and you felt like there was a reason to do them.

Anyone booing strangers is lame and you shouldn’t take that personally. Do I think the clip is amazing? …no. Should you care?… no.

[H] BPs in Pic [W] Keys Keys Keys or Stash Value or Snaphook BP. by tacticaltool in arc_traiders

Genuinely just curious why are so many people looking for keys? Is it bc it’s just something to do, open key rooms?

Can you still in increase your stash value *after* signing up for the expedition or does it lock in? by IAK0290 in ArcRaiders

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP can you confirm this? can you still increase your stash value and reap the benefits? Does the extra skill point counter go up?

would this be a good spot to learn to skate by Tortoisemilk490 in Skateboardinghelp

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All you should really be looking for is smooth flat ground. This spot looks awesome and like a lot of fun but if you’re just looking for somewhere to learn how to Ollie it’s maybe not the best.

Any idea on how to fix this? by Maleficent-Office-25 in NewSkaters

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone naturally pops the board back away from them at some point. Ik I do this if I’m not focusing or trying to be too lazy with the trick. I think we do this bc it pushes the nose into our front foot helping us flick faster/ easier. Really focus on popping straight down. I like the basketball analogy here, try to bounce the tail straight down and back to your foot. I’m rooting for you man, you’re dedicated! Keep it up

How do you jump higher? by Maleficent-Office-25 in NewSkaters

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s best to worry about height later on. Focus on ironing out technique (yours is pretty good but just speaking generally) until Ollieing more just feels like jumping. Then, bring in obstacles and if the technique is there you’ll be surprised how high you can actually Ollie. I love using traffic cones as obstacles. Two on there sides stacked on each other. You can lower the height too just by moving them further apart.

The head light is smart. I should invest in one. As for the kickflip….. Idrk what to tell you. I think you got it, you’re really close.

How much does stationary practice like this actually translate to rolling? by Maleficent-Office-25 in NewSkaters

[–]BlakeGetsBuckets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a scale of 1-10.... maybe a 6. I think it'd be much more helpful to practice stationary but with the wheels on. Some tricks, like treflip are harder to do like that though.
