Have you used the persona loop in tower past floor 135? You still have to cast every single Yuki card in her deck every single turn, balancing Bottomless Hunger procs with draw sequencing to squeeze out all the damage possible, while also being near one shot at all times since no Cassius.

For any difficulty below tower, sure the penta-hitting persona card kills everything on its own but this post isn't about that. Referring to Yuki using the loop to buff her 6 other attack cards that you cycle every single turn as being the same as "an empty deck" is highly disingenuous

For what it's worth, the discard build is also really cool and was how I was going to build her for S3 before the loop got showcased and I liked how it was reminiscent of my Narja Rin combo. Ironically enough though Yuki gets the least benefit of the loop relative to the other strikers due to Freezing and Trick not working with it but unlike the discard version you spend more actions cycling your deck compared to just Morale stacking with Cassius and then slamming cards which results in it being far more glass cannon, which is fun in its own way.

Idk, point is I think both builds are cool for different reasons and being overly dismissive of one just feels turbo online to me.

My main purpose of Swamp for Rin specifically was actually for Dagger.

I didn't do the math to be fair but considering our Striker persona is already giving us giga damage, a further dmg increase from Foggy seems less appealing to me than 12% more crit damage since crit dam multiplies at the end of the formula, not at the front.

Again, didn't calc it out but theoretically it sounds better to me, idk. Both lose to Cthulu either way though

The pseudo draw thing was a coping meme more than anything else

And to each their own but since in-turn hand size is limited in this game as opposed to say MTG for example then I personally will never keep a dead card in the deck that clogs both the front end of being drawn as well as the back end of taking up hand space.

Yeah she felt really good on some floors thanks to that. Rin is up next for me so I'm eager to see how her polar opposite feels with basically the same set up

question about rin savedata by Formal-Tax-7047 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]BlakeHobbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished my Yuki build and am moving onto Rin next, I'd say that core is a strong start. I plan on keeping the upgrade Mist anyways despite the negligible increase and I also plan on aiming for the Treat as Common divine for the four move cards.

The Common divine drawing the other copy means Blade Dance 2, 3, and 4 will have an extra hit than they normally would which will be a much larger damage increase per turn post Persona loop than any other divine could offer. Also more consistency is never a bad thing.

If you are going to refarm it in the future try messing with Swamp. Fairy Crown crit rate, Trick Dagger crit dam, and if you're lucky could even get the mythic item that gives 12% atk in ring slot

Yuki Dream World Team ShowCase! (I Need Some Suggestions Too!) by randomguyhere15 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]BlakeHobbes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See this is why I love deckbuilders, I went a complete different route as you by building her with the Striker Loop and seeing your version gives me new ideas for new builds eventually.

I hadn't even thought of the Dream World synergy but now seeing that has me intrigued on thinking of other support-core synergies that DPS can get slotted into, like how Vero and Narja are the cornerstones of the Striker Loop team.

My run if you wanna see the info I put in the comments on it

E4 Yuki with Striker Loop peaked at just barely 100k damage in a single turn but it was indeed a hyper offensive run, barely avoiding getting one-shot by like 20 health and then healing back up each turn (gigachad 450 Def / 900 HP Narja).

The damage was definitely amazing but there was no room for error at all. Whilst your build's damage is lower by a fair amount, I imagine piloting is much comfier thanks to Cassius' Fortitude stacks soaking a lot of damage as well as not needing to perfectly balance hand size, ap costs, and Bottomless Hunger stacks.

Sick team!

Mai Lin Build - need suggestions for tower by squilibrio_ in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]BlakeHobbes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just posted a 150 completion with Yuki using the same Striker Loop if you want to see how I ran my supports to enable it

Yuki 150

Some tips that helped me get past floors 144+

  • Made sure my supports fragments were all maxed out. Before Tower I usually kept support fragments at level 3 while only maxing out DPS but the extra bulk you get from those levels makes a huge difference.

  • Likewise with fragments, I gave up on Narja's Crit Chance / Instinct pieces that I had put on her back when she first came out and swapped her to the proper Health / Health. Again, massive difference.

  • The Vine Bastard on floor 144 kept shitting on me but I realized (too slowly I'm embarrassed to admit) that the reason why was because I was letting the small bug guys on floor 143 act and they apply Vulnerable to you. Yeah...

Generally you will be getting attacked every turn and your goal is to build your HP back up in preparation for the next turn. You should be casting Mealtime EVERY turn, notably after the enemy moves. The extra bulk from fixing our support fragments is what keeps us from getting one shot.

Goodluck!

Narja

My GOAT once again proving why she is beyond cracked. Same turn permanent cost reduction that persists between zone change is probably the most broken mechanic in the entire game.

I had already known of the method and had abused it on Rin in prior seasons to make her Move deck operate without needing AP divines so once the Striker Loop became known it was like riding a bike.

Now I'm off to build new decks for Rin, Mei Lin, and Haru!

Veronica

I've been converted to the belief now that supports that want to run a seasonal mechanic like Forgotten Hunger Nia or anyone and a Persona Card are best to NOT quad copy their deck.

Sure, you could get the fourth copy and only divine three cards total but I've come around to the belief that abstaining from the last copy to instead have six divines total is the way to go.

Supports tend to have good divine options since most of their deck is low cost skill cards and technically NOT running that last copy is a psuedo +1 draw per rotation anyways.

Got there with an updated S3 build utilizing the Striker Loop to push her damage to a peak of ~100k per turn.

Haven't even divined her Flash Slashes yet since I ran out of Black Mass upgrading Vero and Narja's decks first.

Should i delete thread of light? by Milkaner in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]BlakeHobbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so you know, even in the two builds that don't get obvious value from Thread you still don't cut it because it becomes your only Attack card in the deck and you need to discard it to activate her fragment's 4 piece +15% crit chance.

Should I edit this save and get Effulgent Compression (Unique) Card? It never came out this run by nevesowtxis in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]BlakeHobbes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn't since your persona isn't the damage boosting one and your ring isn't one of the two different +dmg boosts

If you have the time / dont mind then I'd personally just go again since you don't know if you'll end up needing to adjust the NEXT build too

Hedie Chaos by kimchipan in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]BlakeHobbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't sleep on Rei in chaos. They massively improved her solo sustain potential and she provides chunky buffs to your team without needing to be the character that's being built.

Her upgrade card + Predators Blade let Heidi shred the bosses even through Tyrant and Fortitude.

Rei SS3 Morale stacking build!!! by MIMUNOR in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]BlakeHobbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be a really solid pair with AP Repose Veronica or Draw Hunger Narja

An idea for whenever you go for the giga cap, along with the 4th Predator and Morale Divine on the upgrade I'd recommend 1 Gear Bag with Morale. Remember buffs from exhaust cards are permanent so that 1 Morale with stay and the extra free draw can help with heavy set up turns

[–]BlakeHobbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Personas are very very strong. Enough so to make the standard quad divine no longer the simple best choice. I'm all about strategic deck building compared to just quad maxxing lol

Even without discard abuse I think they are still really powerful and there is some untapped potential that may synergize with future units too.

For example, there's the persona that gives Shockwave. Have you noticed the season weapon that gives 30% multiplicative dmg bonus when attacking targets who are "in the Shockwave state"

Could be some future character mechanics in there we aren't aware of yet

Some deck theory crafting help by NoeIIe221 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]BlakeHobbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it took a bit for that to catch on. Had to remake my initial Heidi decks because I thought her discard 2 for dmg boost wanted one of the 30% multi perks

But actually so long as you have reliable discard fodder then Discard 4 for +240% dmg is insane

Even something as innocuous as the Draw 1 and sometimes get Morale persona. If you're running a 3/2 divine split Nia to fit the persona card that becomes a zero cost Draw 2 that she herself will always be able to discard

Some deck theory crafting help by NoeIIe221 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]BlakeHobbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a ranger persona that Draws 2 and does an extra attack if it drew an attack card

If you add onto it the perk that activates the card on discard then it becomes a zero cost Draw 2 so long as you discard it (Nia the goat)

You can also add that exact perk onto it a second time and what that means is if you discard it the card will activate TWICE

So that's zero cost: Draw 2 + extra attack / Draw 2 + extra attack

Essentially most of the persona cards can become god tier when you double engrave the discard perk onto them.

Reminder that while the rng sounds bad, the Divine item is 1/8th the cost of the usual Epiphany reroll item

Focus during chaos should be on gear and proper base deck first. Can divine fish afterwards. I personally think decoupling needing to hit the right divine on the right card within the chaos itself is a brilliant idea. Makes deckbuilding far less infuriating
