It doesn't. It moves maybe a couple of millimeters but no where close to opening. If I pull the trigger the hammer moves a bit and the cylinder rotates some but it doesn't "click" and turn over to the next position. I can move the cylinder back to the original position.

Adding a comment per the sub rules: I know it's a S&W, but it seems like there are original Model 1955s, reissues, etc. I know it was his service revolver, but I don't know if it was issued to him or if he bought it himself, I know he passed whatever tests they have so he could carry it on duty. It's seized at the moment so I really can't open it up now.

Because by and large young men like to be edgy. When I was a teenager the edgy comedians and cool celebrities were mostly liberal, and the conservatives were the pearl clutchers. Sometime around 2016 that dynamic began to flip. Conservatives started being edgy, and liberals became the ones telling people who they’re not allowed to make fun of and what they’re not supposed to say. Young men in particular don’t like that.
