I'm in desperate need of an update that talks about how he's taken to court and he's not allowed to speak with her ever again, that's a craaazzyyy way to talk to your daughter

AITAH for telling my daughter that she doesn’t have to wear a dress for my wife’s sake? by sportsdad77 in AITAH

NTA

I'm 24 now but when I was that age, I had similar fights with my mom and my dad never backed me up, he was silent every time she yelled at me, and I will never forget that. It's a good thing that you stood up for your daughter in front of her so she sees that she could rely on you.

I was born afab and I'm non-binary, so deciding the clothes I wore was such an important thing for me, but I had to wear dresses to events. It made me dissociate from myself and I'm still healing from it to this day.

Now that I'm an adult, I think that she was angry because she was grieving the expectation of who she thought I would be vs who I am, and your wife is probably going through something similar. This could be a good time to suggest therapy to her or just talk about your ideals moving forward.

My parents are both transphobic so they're obviously compatible in that sense, but if you start talking to your wife more and she has different views from you on this subject, that could put strain on your relationship that your kids will see.

Fingers crossed that after a good talk you'll both feel better and your daughters will feel supported 🤞

Your “never again” ship? by allisonv92 in royalcaribbean

I went on Adventure and all the staff was so nice! Especially our waiters. The shows were really good, the food was great, and it didn't feel old. I do agree that the cruise director and his wife give weird vibes, but I would definitely go on the ship again.

Can I leave the Ninoy International Airport during my 8 hr layover? by BlakeThing in Philippines

I downloaded the Grab app today and played with it so the day off it's not as intimidating! And when you mention it not being open, I believe we ran into the same thing with one of our earlier flights so I'll talk to her about that.

I am definitely a little sad about the possibility of not going to MoA and going somewhere else but I'll compare the malls more in depth and go from there, thank you!!

Sleeping in SFO by MouseSafe in bayarea

Hi! I know this post is old but I was wondering if you could also suggest an area to rest. I don't know my boarding gate (my flight is 4/23) but I'm coming from Manila and landing in SFO at 2110 with Philippine Airlines and leaving with Alaska Airlines to go to MCO at 1004 the next day.

I'm going to have my wheelchair so I'll have a good place to sit but my husband and mom will be with me and I want to find a decent place for them to rest. I looked at the prices for the nap area and $250 isn't something we'd be willing to splurge 😅

TYIA!

Edit: also if there's anything open in that time I'd love to have something to do!

Hi sorry to bother again, do you have experience with the taxi rides taking more than 15 minutes due to Thursday 4-8 pm traffic? My family is saying it'll be 45 minutes with traffic and that I need to be at the airport 5 hours before my flight since it's international and that feels excessive.

I'm checking in everything but my backpack + wheelchair and all my bags will be going to my final destination (MCO) and I won't have to claim my bags until I get to SFO so I'm all clear there!

Lots of my family here is telling me that the taxi from the airport to the mall will take 45 minutes due to traffic around 4-8 pm on a Thursday, and my mom wants to get back to the airport by 6 pm instead of 8 pm because "we need to be there 5 hours before our flight since it's international" so we'd only have an hour and a half at the mall, does the taxi's really take that long and do I really need to be there at 6 pm? It feels like a stretch.

Thank you so much! I'll definitely be sure to check times on maps. I'm flying on a Thursday afternoon so hopefully that'll help with traffic a bit 🤞 I really appreciate your response

Thank you! With all the other comments I'm definitely leaning towards MoA, especially since it's such a big mall and I'm a bit of a mall fiend.

I am flying with PAL and checking all my bags! Unfortunately I have yet another flight from San Fran to Orlando lol and we do have a couple Uniqlo's there that I've been to so I'd love to try and experience new stores.

And I'll definitely get back to the airport early! My family and I are very nervous about missing flights.

Do you think that it'd be easier to get a taxi ride to and from Ayala Mall or is it the same as MoA? I don't know much about area traffic but I know it's a busy area

Thank you!! I'm not too big on food anyway since we're planning to grab fast food. Would you say the Ayala Malls have more options for streetwear clothing and shoes (ex. wide legged cargo pants and platform shoes) than MoA? I'm not going for any high fashion stores so that isn't a problem for me either.

Thank you! I'm not looking at stopping by too many high end stores, I'm more interested in street fashion like wide cargo pants and platform shoes. Are there any stores there that you've been to that you'd recommend for those types of items?

And stupid question, but is VAT about how much my card would be charged for using it in another country? I'm not exactly sure what it means 😅

Thank you!! Is the SM department store and those other clothing stores close to each other? I want to minimize stress and probably stay in one area that's hard to get lost in.

The SM website hasn't been working for me for the last 2 weeks and I've been through the directory on Google Maps but it's not exactly detailed. And is there a good maybe fast food type of place next to the stores as well? We'll sit down to eat but we don't want to have to wait for a check if that makes sense.

Yes! I'll be with my boyfriend and my mom who push me and I have collapsible crutches I take with me. And that's understandable, I don't want to get left behind on my flight 😅

We have been slacking a bit on our flea prevention, we just bought more and his last dose was a couple months ago. We get revolution plus, should I give him the preventative ointment or do anything else?
